The Electronic Entertainment Expo, also known as E3, is the industry's most important video game convention. The exhibition only allows entry of workers from companies and journalists
The E3 was held the third week of May each year at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the city of Los Angeles, California. As an exception, in 2007 it was held from July 11 to 13 in Santa Monica, California and in 2009 was held from June 1 to June 4 in Los Angeles. According to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) E3 2005 exceeded 70,000 visitors. At the moment, it is celebrated in the month of June or July.
Many video game developers expose their creations and novelties in software and hardware. In addition, since 1998, a prize for the best video game of E3 has been awarded.
The 2010 E3 was held from June 14 to June 17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center
History
E3 1995
The first edition of the exhibition, where the first Sony game console, called PlayStation, was presented. On the other hand Nintendo showed the Ultra 64 that would end up being the Nintendo 64. Nevertheless its reception was not very good in comparison with the later ones.
E3 1996
Nintendo 64 is presented with a new game, Super Mario 64. In this edition we witness the birth of great franchises such as Tomb Raider and Biohazard (Resident Evil in the West) Developer Square launches its first product for PlayStation, the successful Final Fantasy VII.
E3 1997
This year the show moves to Atlanta. This is an issue with very few new software. Konami presents for PlayStation, Metal Gear Solid.
E3 2006
The most important appearances of this edition are PlayStation 3 and Wii. For the first time games for mobile devices appear in the exhibition.
Some of the games announced for the Xbox 360 were Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Hitman: Blood Money. Nintendo announces the DS Lite and presents its entire catalog of Wii and Sony does the same with its PlayStation 3 showing all the games that would accompany the new game console.
E3 2007

The E3 2007 was celebrated exceptionally in Santa Monica between 11 and 13 July. This included new changes focused on making it a less crowded and more focused on video games giving more dialogue and interactivity. The E3 was furor more than anything in the videoconsolas like Wii or PlayStation 3
E3 2008

E3 2009
