Tendulkar was named Man of the Match six times in the losing ODIs. The previous record was held by Javed Miandad. The legend of Pakistan tasted this acid-sweet five times.

Zimbabwe's two brothers Andy and Grant Flower, West Indies' Chris Gayle and Pakistan's Inzamam-ul-Haq won the match four times. Only Tamim Iqbal got this taste from Bangladesh more than once, twice.

Tendulkar holds the record for most man-of-the-match appearances in ODIs, an estimated 72 times. Sanath Jayasuriya was recognized as the best 47 times, Virat Kohli 38 times.
