Amidakuji + Solutions for Creative Block

in #game7 years ago (edited)

It’s that time of the week again. I hope you’re ready!

As always, one of these lines connects to the jackpot. If you can guess which one it is, you’ll win some, or maybe even all of the payout from this post.

For those of you who have played before, thank you for coming back! This week’s Amidakuji has a theme and an optional twist. For more details, keep reading.

In an attempt to give this game a little more value, I have decided to tackle an issue that all of us face from time to time, Creative Block and Writer’s Block.

On a platform like Steemit, all of us are striving to keep our creative energies high so that we can continually produce good content. Occasionally, though, we find ourselves a little short of ideas, inspiration, and motivation. If you are an artist or a writer and are looking for some new material or ideas, this week’s Amidakuji might be just what you need.

In addition to having one line that connects to the jackpot, all of the numbered lines at the top of this week’s Amidakuji connect to a lettered line at the bottom. Each of these letters represents a different task that is meant to help stimulate your creative energies. These tasks will be revealed next week along with the Amidakuji winners. Whether you fulfill the task you have drawn or not is completely up to you. There is absolutely no pressure to do so.

For those of you who are just beginning, this is an easy game. All you have to do is choose a line and write the number of that line in the comments below. The jackpot will be distributed equally to all users who choose the correct line. The more votes this post gets, the bigger the jackpot will be.

Please be aware that the lines behind the blue box do not fall straight down. They bend and twist. This is a game of chance. For more information on how an Amidakuji works, please refer to this post, Amidakuji.

This contest will close after this post has been paid out. Results will be posted shortly after.

Feel free to resteem this post.

I'll go with 4 -

I'll try and draw a comic with whatever I get - should be a good challenge.

interesting. i'll go for what i rarely got(english teacher hated this word) in school. A

If you want a chance at hitting the jackpot, you'll have to choose a number. The idea is that the lines drop downward and connect to one of the lettered lines. You can check this post for a reference.

I'll choose the number 3! Cool initiative, let's look for what letter C reserves for me ;)

What can I say... If it worked once, there's a 1/10th chance it'll work again !

puts on detective monocle and takes a puff of his pipe

Aha... @boxcarblue is trying to manipulate us into being productive !
Shame on you wait... Is this good or bad ? Both !?!

I'm confused now XS

Hmmm... not too sure if I'll ever apply that XS

I'm not the best fiction writer.

I've tried my hand at NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), which comes around every November, but have always failed miserably around the 5000-10000 words mark (the goal being friggin 50,000 words XO).

My last one was about a roomba, and some other IoT appliances, all inhabited with AI and who spent most of their time doing their jobs while chatting over an intranet. The Roomba eventually decides to explore, and accidentally triggers a virus that's been hibernating in the system. And suddenly they've got 2 new entities that are seemingly against each other trying to convince all the other appliances (including air condition systems, a mini-society of security drones who venerate their "mother" the Net Security AI, and a couple of Roomba's and previously deactivated armed security drones who've now gone online under the orders of the more aggressive of the two new entities) to join them, yet strangely enough some of the appliances don't seem entirely "themselves" anymore...

They also try to uncover the truth about what happened to the Master's, who haven't been back in Ages (though as far as I got, they never uncovered enough information for the reader to determine what "Ages" meant for a IoT appliance...)

Yes, My idea of fiction is very out there XP

Feel free to try another option. Sometimes it's nice to continue someone else's train of thought or to use an established character. That's what I've found anyway.
