The Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department announced on July 12th how they busted an online gambling platform that played host to about $1.5 billion dollars worth of bets in virtual currency.
Good article, amazing amount of money being bet on the World Cup in crypto, makes perfect sense, I'd rather be paid in crypto then fiat any day. I don't gamble though, so it's not relevant to me except the fact that there may one day be a legit decentralized platform that gambles can use to make their bets in a particular coin. Who knows, maybe there is one out there already. Those coins or that platform could be worth a small fortune....
