What It's Like To Suck At Putting On Makeup

in #funny8 years ago

I'm going to be honest with you. sometimes it feels like I am the only female on planet earth who sucks at doing makeup. All these new fashion trends with makeup and I fail at doing all of them. I was never too great at doing my makeup to begin with.

In fact I do my makeup so lightly that the other day when doing my makeup infront of my future brother in law he only noticed that I wear make up that day... Still can't decide if that is good or not.

Licking my wounds after trying and failing a youtube tutorial,, looking like a clown after when I was supposed to look like a blushing bride. I decided to go a different route and watch men try doing makeup.

Honestly I thought that this would make me feel better... But the makeup I was still trying to wash off my face with makeup remover looked worse.

Then I realized I don't have 40 different brushes or the right eyeliner or half of the makeup I need... Then again... who doesn't want to be a panda?

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only guy who thinks makeup is just weird to begin with and slightly off-putting.

You're not the only one. My boyfriend likes that I never wear make-up. Natural is better he says!

I wouldn't say the only one. My fiance does like it better when I'm all natural so the light makeup I put on every now and then to just feel like i'm pretty ' ish myself doesn't bug him. But I get what you are saying. Sometimes the girls look like gremlyns before and after they look like Scarlett Johansson... I would be put off too if that were the case

Or sometimes they look fine without makeup, but either over-dramatic application or poor color choices make them look garish afterward.

I never wear make-up. I would be horrible at putting it on aswell and honestly, for me it's not worth all the hastle. I'm too lazy for all this stuff.

I get that but I have fair skin and blue eyes and dark hair so sometimes I look like i'm busy dying and eventhough makeup is a little bit of a hastle (takes like 5 min to apply everything) I do feel better about myself. No one likes to look like the corpse bride when it isn't halloween

In the pic of the video, the one on the left used three or four colors of blue.
The one on the right used black.

The one on the left matches her face structure and her skin color and is the complementary color of the skin tone and lipstick.
The one of the right is none of those things.

Not every woman is good with color coordination. I guess that is what high-priced makeup counter are for. So, if you are not a natural, my suggestion is to find someone really good and set of colors for yourself.

On learning to apply, I suggest learning to sketch. Drawing with a basic pencil works those important hand-eye coordination skills. Especially the flick of the wrist moves.

Question if you had your boyfriend do your makeup before important events, how would you feel about that?

I'm kinda good at drawing but I feel like brushes are a lot worse when it comes to control. I can't paint tyo save my life. If my boyfriend where to do my makeup I would feel secure in the knowladge that he never would make me look bad (purposefully) but I might get hurt once or twice when it comes to eyeliner

I can completely relate. Everytime I try winged eyeliner I look like the walking dead

SO happy I am not the only one. I generally go as a Zombie to all dress up parties... that way it actually looks like I meant to do that to my face
