I guess I won't be using biometrics to unlock my #steem account any time soon.
In the video, they go on to explain that not only is it possible to unlock a phone by #3dPrinting mold made from a scan of a fingerprint and replicating the fingerprint using a conductive putty. They were even able to do it using a latent photo of Germany's Minister of Defence... successfully.
...Feels like there's something unethical about this, but I just can't put my finger on it...
And this is one of the many reasons why #biometrics (fingerprints in particular) make horrible passwords, imagine if every surface you touched had a copy of your password left on it, you could never change it.
Although it's strange... it's a murder VICTIM - so supposedly dead and in the morgue.... makes you wonder why they didn't just use the actual finger to unlock the device?
