The latter would be pointless - there's no obvious 'enemy' 'causing' the tragedy of the commons, and no obvious solution either!

As you say - RPR is hardly a 'grand scheme' problem - not compared to profitting from child labour etc.

Also I think people need to wake up to the fact that most virtual content really doesnt have that much inherent value compared to offline tangible pursuits.

Personally I remain thankful that this is a minority income stream for me!
