If someone comes up to you on the street and says, "Nice shirt," you'll be proud of your shirt. If you turn around and notice they are saying it loudly to everyone who's wearing a shirt and some people are becoming nervous, you will then realize it was a crazy person and your shirt had nothing to do with anything.
