Well done .. good work
This was a short and useful
Benefit and enjoy it is best to succeed with a little patience
This was really funny to me especially this
People are just used to that form of starting line for all convos hehehe.!
Damn those guys have earned an insane amount of money in the last 90 days,my dream currently is even to earn the money they earn in one post so that I earn it in a month hehehe.
Yes it haven't occurred to me it might be a cultural norm!
Oh well, just cover the $$$ and use it to form relationships and write whatever sparks your interest.
hhahah,, good2 , Amazing......!!! DANCE SAMAN ACEH Winner 1 in POLANDIA ,

Man, you should just enjoy spending time here and interacting with whomever you feel like whenever you feel like it and ignoring all the random crap that wears you out. If I were you I would terminate ALL my obligation and travel the world and blog about it on steemit, period.
I'm seriously considering a change in my career path in order to have more free time to write quality posts ( which I feel have been lacking lately) and earn more steem in order to one day become a full time blogger.
I hope you will take care of yourself in the future :)
P.s You're on my autovoting list since forever, if only the darn thing would work all the time.
If I can travel with my best friend easily, I'll do it more often for sure lol :)
Here's a pic of my BFF
I'm now on a quest to remove unnecessarily long quarantine times for dogs all over the world, but it's not so easy.
You can chose countries with a lot of stuff to visit and make your stay there as long as possible. That could make the long quarantine times worth it I guess. Are we talking day or weeks of quarantine?
It’s mostly weeks afaik
woah!! cute!!
What a cute face!!!!! ♥
I want to travel too. I'd love to blog about going to new Countries and trying the local food and do that all year round. I don't have a job from disability though so it's tough finding much of a purpose online. Ha, I just wish I had a more interesting life to blog about. I have no money, but nothing but free time.
What do you like to write about?
You don't need money to make your life interesting - just start by going to places in your city and documenting your visit, then blog about it! Those are places that most people would not have a chance of ever visiting but we all like to learn about new places / things / people - especially if it's inspiring. Document the day that you volunteered at the zoo! In no time you will be a pretty interesting person with a pretty interesting life!
@kevinwong I don't blame you about the entire communication channel thing. I think everyone hits a point at least once where it can become all consuming. From my side it's part of the reason why I have posted less frequently here on Steemit.
I'm glad to see you have chosen to focus a bit more on writing and I know we've talked about the shitposts receiving huge rewards for basically running a bot and churning out a report. I think that problem of "rewardpool rape" could best be solved by having the enablers stop with the quid-pro-quo implied vote for vote guarantees among orcas and whales. It's the unspoken elephant in the room which is the heart of the problem. Personally, I don't ever see that ending because who would want to take a haircut from $200k plus per quarter which requires no work?
Kudos to you for not succumbing to that, and still putting up great, original content. As always, I will continue to support your content and the content of others who produce great , original work which I feel adds value.
It's probably an issue when it comes to expectation of a social / content ranking site, but not so much an issue when it comes to Steem as a fair consumer product. Might be a good thing to have a currency that doesn't impose any standards with what people wanna do with their votes, so I guess here we are today. We should all just post more and use the platform however we wanna use it!
I will agree with you on that point about posting more.
Personally, I have no issue with how people use their votes. However, I do have an issue with hypocracy when the same individuals who preach to everyone about a person’s freedom to use their vote how they like is good only inasmuch as their own rewards are not impacted.
One thing I’d love to see implemented is an easier way to discover more content. Guess I’m finally schilling for communities. See what you’ve done to me? Lol.
This platform is a newborn compared to others out there. So much change will still take place here - but it's not going to happen if everybody just throws their hands in the air and say "f@ckit! I'm joining the dark side cause everybody else does and it's easier".. BE the change..CONSISTENTLY!
You seem like a good guy (I say "seem" because I don't know you from Adam), but your integrity shines through in your posts. Feeling despondent usually comes with feeling overwhelmed but the feeling will pass. Just don't become Sheeple (sheep people). Just following the easier route doesn't make the world a better place. BE the change you want to see.
Sorry for the sermon, but maybe you needed to hear that ;)
Dont pressure yourself too much. Enjoy it!
Any chance you can give our #runforsteem Challenge some support? I have been hosting this weekly challenge and paying all pariticpants equally for running and posting about their runs and we are looking for some more exposure. We have some passionate runners here and it would be cool to gather them in this challenge.
Best wishes,
Jumowa
🙌🙌🙌
Much respect for this...
Both these issues, I personally see as significant hurdles to be overcome before Steemit can really ascend to new heights. I just made a post a few hours ago ago the topic of such beggars flooding the comments section with shit - it’s getting ridiculously annoying, and what professional investor in their right mind would want to buy into a platform where that is a common quality of conduct? Of course, it’s kinda difficult if not impossible to install cultural standards that everyone will conform to, and there are bound to be people who treat this place like a lottery / numbers game where if they just ask enough times, they might get a few pennies - though if no standards are set to minimize such behaviour, can we really expect enough people to find this place enticing enough to invest billions in this playground that’d push price up? And of course, maybe we oughta focus more on the social aspect more than the money - though I’m also finding myself less interesting in wading through the increasing amount of garbage comments, so that stance ain’t the strongest it’s been, either.
And the rewards pool... yeah.
Unless we’re talking about some celebrity that brings in 50,000 followers, it’d probably be tough to get consensus on the idea that anyone deserves such ridiculously high payouts, no matter how good their content. $100,000 for 3 months... that could replace the income of 100 QUALITY writers and community leaders in third world countries who’ve been busting their asses to grow their local Steemit communities.
Of course, that might be an ideal. And maybe this could be considered complaining. And perhaps, these are some of the downsides of decentralization. Would love to be optimistic, but gotta be realistic about the systematic faults.
Appreciate your bluntness in addressing this. 🙏
sometimes I wish i have a little Sp to curate some minnows who dedicated their time, energy and thinking, putting so much effort together writing quality contents, that are educating, original while I see some posts that are not that beneficial to the platform earning so much.. such things at time discouraged those who have the heart of giving so much efforts into this platform. and sometimes its so annoying when you see some others writing irrelevant comments or giving spam comments to posts.
I so much enjoyed reading this comment.. how i wish this very comment can be seen by many fellow steemians.
someone like me is still a minnow but I wish there can be certain measure to keep in check and correct somethings, so that steemit can grow and be a better place.
You earn my respect @rok-sivante
If you allow it, Steemit will take all your days and weekends easily.
You got a 100.00% upvote from @voteme courtesy of @discernente! For next round, send minimum 0.01 SBD to bid for upvote.

You are one of the people with the kindest heart on this platform, and it is an honor to know you. I truly mean this. Things you have done for this platform and the community are invaluable. People might not know this, because you don't advertise that. There is plenty I have learnt from you and your personality. Simply put you are lead by example.
If anybody deserves making tens of thousands of dollars on this platform, that would be you. We actually need more people like you making more.
It is good that you will be cutting down on some parts of communications. You can't help everybody all the time. Sometimes you just need to say no, or ignore. That said, I will try to bother you less too :)
I actually want to see you posting more, your posts are always well thought and interesting. Long or short it doesn't matter, I really enjoy reading them and sometimes learn new things, especially when you start your crypto talks.
Thank you for being a kind and honorable person. Much love and respect.
Thanks @geekgirl for the nice words. Been paid well enough here being a lucky early adopter and nowhere near as hardworking as most contributors on the platform. And no don't worry, you're not bothering me at all lol. The curie team is doing awesome :)
Thank you for your very authentic and honest post!
You don’t have to excuse yourself.
I can understand that it takes a lot being extremely active on this platform on this Level.
It takes a lot of time and effort to create original high quality content and reply to the comments and so on.
One has to be careful not to burnout.
Sure it‘s a nice possibility to make money, but after all this is a social media platform.
And shouldn’t we enjoy social media instead of feeling tired by it?
I like the fact that you don’t put non stop shit posts on the platform but rather post less, but therefor with quality.
Please keep this up.
I did a post recently exactly about this greed on steemit that wie can see clearly since the prices of steem went up that much. It can not be overseen.
(No, this is definitely no ask for checking it out ;) )
You don’t have to reply to all comments and talk to people you don’t want to.
Spend your time for the people you want to communicate with.
All the best for you buddy
Thanks for the kind words @infinityroad! I really like reading comments and responding to them. Stuff like this keeps anyone going on a social network.
Thing is the Steem network (and participants) have a short-term memory and more than willing to look past any exploits done by any of the accounts. Well, "exploits" anyway since it's not clear cut all the time when money's involved.
Steemit is about three things: Community, investment, and community.
All the people who see this platform as just a "thing" for making money, fast and furious and whatever, are really missing a world of possibilities here. There are amazing projects going on, incredible posts with great info, terrific initiatives for helping people around the world...
That is why i follow steemians like you. The ones that actually care and the ones that actually **add value ** to this platform. Your posts are informative, entertaining, always on the very last of investment and thechnology and, heck, you always take your time in making them readable and care about the comments.
So, please, keep a rythm that works for you, and i will be following you right to the beat of it. :)
Thank you for sharing!
Ups, wrong place... :)
Thanks @flashfiction that's really kind of you.
What are some of the most interesting projects/initiatives you've seen on the network by the way?
Thank you!
Well, i'vee seen (and participated in) small initiatives like this and this very often. They are, by themselves, an example of what this platform is really capable of, if used for the greater good.
But there are a considerable big number of large, ambitious, creative and amazing projects going on that actually blow me away. These are just a couple of them:
The Writers Block : Being a writer myself, this one really hits home. This project is a combination of writer's workshop, crypto club and (soon) publishing house. Their webpage is here
Mining the Year 1918 : Man, this is so awesome. The First Steem-Powered University Course. They implement the use of steemit as part of the class! Later, they will use it to advance educational projects.
The Teardrops Smart Media Tokens : This is one of the best i've found. This guy, @surpassinggoogle , is an initiative by himself. And this is is his magnum opus. I literally don't want to spoil anything, please, GO READ IT if you find the time.
A lot of other projects are in development. Here is an epic list of some of the most important.
And this is only beginning. So, yeah, i'm excited and stuff. :)
In my opinion, you should take it as a gift - you joined that platform early enough and invested in it and now you can eat the fruits your tree bears - you will get rewarded hansomly enough while still maintaining quality content - there are a few examples in the list you added that don't upload shit - yes, they are rewarded hansomly but so are bitcoin or EOS early adopters - when the content is good people shouldn't fret too much about higher revenue, it's the way things are with early adopters.
I'm a nobody in SP aspects but - I'm not jealous of the quality content that gets great revenues, I just work hard and try to go up the ladder, and usually the top of that list that do make quality content are willing to help and upvote a quality comment handsomely.
Now - regarding the load that platform is putting on your shoulders - those are smart steps that you took, we have to remember the actual world and every day things like family and meals and meeting with friends and sports etc. There is an option of looking for the gems among the comments, they are usually longer or if they are short and witty, someone else might already voted them generously upon seeing them.
There is also cryptoctopus's method - he build himself a fan list of devoted quality commenters and he upvotes them automatically - it might not be personal like a manual upvote and a comment, but in time of stress it can help you reward your faithful commenters even without investing the time needed.
Yup I'm just jabbing at the situation, someone's bound to be at the top of the earner's list and get flak for pretty much just being there lol so it's funny.
Lol seems like you've experienced this First time for me.
I think might've read up on that but forgot about it. He always has good ideas :)
@kevinwong - I am not at any level on Steemit yet and I am getting messages from people to visit their posts. With your level and status on Steemit, you must be getting bombarded. You have no option to be selective in your responses if you really want to be productive. I totally get it. I like the map of skill level vs. challenge. Will keep it in mind as I grow.
Will keep this response short since I do not want to take up your valuable time. Kudos for the scathing words against #rewardpoolrapists. Thanks for raising your voice too.
P.S. My vote is small but will put you on autovote - have not used Streemian or Steemvoter yet but will explore it in next 2 days.
Regards,
@vm2904
Haha i'm joking about the autovote bot. Better to support newer accounts that are also putting time into the platform :)
I'm glad about reading this reply!
Looking at the accounts above I suspect the biggest vote is from self. This is proof of brain in action - the more you got, the more you'll get!
Well it's a fair consumer product for sure. Nothing like Steem in the market :)
Well it's hard to autoupvote anybody these days lest they abuse it, rather give it to a big guy I guess
I'd like you to see a post I write in this steemauto issue @abh12345 that's if you got the time
LOL. Yes. I know - giving a vote to big whales is like holding a candle to the sun. I meant I will explore autovoters now - it is long due and putting you on autovote will just trigger my starting using the autovote bots. I owe it to people who are creative and hell of a lot engaged than me.
Thanks.
Let me know, I'm trying to look for something that actually works so i can support some more authors (auto voting).
SteemAuto is fixed now.
I went from almost 0 autovotes to overdrive all of a sudden so I went and checked the discord.
I'm an autovoting fool at the moment seems some guy named @kevinwong is voting ALOT and I'm following his trail. :-D
yeah you all big whales should support newbie's to grow in this platform.
Thanks
I'm here :)
Ah better you get it than abusive pricks 😁😁😁😁
@kevinwong are you really planning to do something about this? I am less than 2 weeks old here and already it has demotivated me to some extent when I see the clear disparity between rich and poor on this platform. It's so easy to see that the way it works now, the rich will continue to get richer. May be I am wrong, being so new here, but it sure feels that way
I also can not figure out the bots though it's very interesting.Beginners are very difficult on the steemit...
U said what was bothering you about this community, also u will get to that level of those who earned that high amount in 90days,they say hard work, that's what we will do.I have done an upvote ,pls upvote mine too .
Those posts on trending are nearly pushing me out the door. Hate to say it. There's so much fucking talent here. So much talent that WOULD come here if it wasn't such a fucking shit show of half baked retards acting like we can't see right through their fucking bullshit. Oh... oops, sorry, that was supposed to be my inside voice.
Hahaha.. the price of decentralization I guess.
I can understand.
I’m not yet a big fish here but I’ve played music before and know what it’s like to get s lot of attention. Fame isn’t really a natural phenomenon, and so I’ve actively avoided it, maybe even creating a disadvantage for myself. Not rejecting it anymore but...meh...
No pressure.
Woah, I’m comment number 135! hope you read it! If not, it’s all good man! Take care of yourself first!
I play music as well but never got such a following
Although I'm nowhere a celeb or famous person, just enjoying a good amount of casual follows.. I can definitely see why some celebs go absolutely crazy after some time!
I’m no famous by any means, but sometimes afternoon a show I get to continue to be the center of attention, which is strange for me after I’ve sang what I cam to sang. I’d prefer if NO ONE was the center of attention. I don’t need to be a leader, and I don’t want to be a follower, but it seems most people are accustomed to being on or the other and turning you into one or the other sometimes.
I have friends who are in famous bands, the attention they get and they way everyone seeks validation from them can border on creepy, although it IS often advantageous as no one ignores what you have to say. I guess I imagine that’s what it’s like to be on the trending page ;-P
What I mean is....I can understand the need for a post like this.
(I’ll have to keep my eyes out for your music)
Steem has enormous potential. The blockchain architecture can handle the huge amount of transaction it takes for an interactive incentivized social blogging platform to run well on it. It's secure, it can scale, there is a lot of development going on, on the Steemit side as well as independently. Initiatives like utopian.io have arisen from it.
And yet, there are people within this community that behave in ways that reward them in the short term with Steem, yet might hurt the future of the platform in the long term.
Maybe we all have to realize that the only advantage we have to a new kid on the blockchain that copies the Steem concept (which is not really difficult, since it's all open source) is our community. If our community continues to exhibit poisonous traits, a move to a new place becomes a real option for many.
Not me, of course, I'm a true believer :)
We know who you are, you don't have to worry about it. And no, noone would call you a prick...
Maybe whales should get together and flag the automated prediction masters on steemit? maybe this is not the place for something of the likes. Or the market. I mean there is cyndicate for that stuff isn't it, you get better predictions from trading view too.
I don't know @smooth suggested something about it at his latest post, it does makes some kind of sense but it affects everyone and not just the reward rapers. He thinks we should start collectively burn steems and steem dollars. Check him out if you have some time.
Ah there's a post? Thanks for notifying.
I dunno, i think it's pretty amazing @haejin has brought in plenty of viewers and followers, while creating a hypetrain big enough to move the market (maybe). But I just don't buy the loads of rewards going to stuff like that. It's said that it's education but lets not kid ourselves, a good number of people are going to follow predictions blindly and get burned. I'd very much prefer fundamental analysis for these things..
In a bull market we all are trading specialist kevin you know that. If you got a blind monkey with 1000 euro back into 2017 january to gamble in crypto it would ba a millionaire by now.
Fundamental is for people that are interested in the tech and into the future in general like you and me.
Chart analysis are for day traders that put their faith to fiat and money in general.
I go long with the future I am shorting the past.
If I were not on steemit I would be still on the computer likely doing something else. I am grateful to have discovered this platform as I have found my hobby of crypto. Learning from you and other whales has given me motivation each day to earn more in the crypto world. It has brought me more optimism than I have ever had in my whole life.
I am still a minnow so not bombarded by users to the point where I feel I hate social media. I enjoy reading other's responses of my posts. I am so small that the rewardpoolrape feels like is having little affect on me. Maybe I am just naive.
We are all human and once in a while we need to tune ourselves out of these social media platforms and electronics in general. It is totally understandable to walk away and take a break. Sometimes its better that way and once recovery is completed hope back on and play the game all over again full of energy ;) Thanks.
I guess at one point we just need to find balance? Good to know you're enjoying everything about the platform. Sometimes it's really easy to forget after a few months, we really have an amazing tool here that can make things better for a lot of people :)
I've always appreciated your candor and relate to your idioms, perhaps there's psychological comfort there.
You were one of my first follows (late 2016) and I first learned how to auto-curate because of you and your post content. I've been lazy on Steemit, but I've always appreciated the fact that yourself and a small handful of good people are receiving the recognition they deserve for all they've, you have done for this platform.
Don't mean to stroke it too hard. Unfortunately, I've yet to attain a satisfactory upvote price that reflects the true value of how much I appreciate those who guided me in the early days. I look forward to your work and helping to propagate it.
Thanks and praise
V
Thanks for the kind words @viktorcapulet! I think you're more active on Twitter these days eh? I'll be posting out the kind of posts I wish to see more in a couple days. Will definitely reserve the VP to support such posts / accounts going forward.
@kevinwong Yeah I’ve been waisting a lot of time on Twitter. I’m going to set up my other account to focus solely on those magnanimous accounts such as yours and the select few that I hold in high regard.
It’s time to pull my head out of my ass and begin structuring my weeks and formulating a routine. I’m on the reverse end of the 80/20 principle so it’s time to switch it up.
Back in the late 90’s early 2000’s I was a Social Media junky. I need to find my way back and start slammin that blue dope, Steemit.
I know you’re on that mastermind tip, but if you ever need help pushing info or what have you, get at me. I work from home so I’m always ready to rock.
Gratitude 🙏 V
Your position as Curie curator and part of whale community, attract minnows. As Indonesian proverb "Ada Gula, Ada semut".
That looks like beautiful lady will attract more man to get her attention.
I believe you can solve this problem.
Haha.. but I really don't curate on Curie anymore nor do I communicate with any whales (not that often anyway..)
Tak ada gula.. :D
Not a beautiful lady too..
On the turning off notifications... this is something I do on a regular basis.. write largely offline (other than a couple of windows for research purposes), with all social media disconnected, then have a couple of 'blast sessions' twice a day, maybe more on some days. (it's also something I should do RIGHT NOW regarding my crypto porfolio... it ain't looking pretty-in-red)
As a teacher, I can tell you that you can't have sustained meaningful interaction with more than 40-50 people, so you have to specialize and limit yourself... Everyone else should understand!
I actually think this kind of occasional personal confessional post is well worth reading... but (no offence) I wouldn't want an update of this nature more than once a month!
Please resist! It's painful to see good authors posting drivel (I don't count this post as such btw) just to keep up with the 'one post per day' mantra)... Much better to maintain your integrity, it's on the blockchain forever don't forget.
Also, d'you really need the money?
Oh man, I learnt that the hard way. You're right, even 40-50 is already pretty much at the brim, although some say Dunbar's number is around 150 people (in a tribe, meaningful communication, etc)
Tbh, I've not cashed out more than 1000 USD / month from any of my crypto stuff. Just mainly using them to power some projects and initiatives.
Actually You're maybe right with the 150 number in the adult world - I was 'hedging' in teacher mode (thinking of 'helping people develop').
As a teacher I interact with 150 students a day! Plus staff etc.
How meaningful those interactions are is debatable.
Some could be life changing? Most I suspect are just operational.
Who knows which is which?
Having met you in person @kevinwong and having no clue who you were or what you did at the time.
My initial assessment of you was; that you were a very nice friendly decent chap.
We met at steemfest2 sitting on a wall at a drinks thing in case you forgot. :)
Since our meeting I have discovered that you are not only smart but very generous too.
Definitely not a prick!
You are on my steemvote because I know you always produce thoughtful blogs.
No one expects you to respond to every comment. That would be intolerable. Your plans outlined above make perfect sense.
Give yourself a break and do what feels right for you.
Your decisions are majorly supported. If you let blogging take up time and mental headspace, it will negatively impact the integral parts of life (family, hobbies etc..) Take that time you need Mr! I was up until 2AM last night trying to be active on here. Now it's about 10AM at work at I'm very sleep deprived. Have you checked out ASMR videos? No links! lol They are super calming and can be found all over interwebs. Take care of you man :)
My schedule and life went upside down for the past year mostly coz of blockchain communities lol. Been great and exciting but time to assimilate back to normal life lol. 2AM and 10AM at work with sleep deprivation? I'm on 4 hours everyday since college haha.. I do listen to recordings of rain whenever I sleep :) thanks for the kind words @mantablast
Hello @kevinwong i remember following you awhile back. Here is my 2 cents, do what you feel is right. Don't feel obligated to reply to everything just because you have a few hundred people screaming at you with remarks because they want to be popular too. Just do you. Simple as that. If you want to post all the time, do so, if you want to reply to every single message do so. But don't feel obligated. Its too stressful. And all the kind people out there should understand. Tons of these people just want the popularity that you have. Tons of them enjoy your content and want more. etc etc etc. Don't let the pressures of the inter-webs get you. Theres always a good side to this site and theres the downsides of being popular. Good luck to you and don't forget to take breaks and do what you enjoy most, especially hobbies and life away from the computer. Steem on my friend!
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement @gre3n, I bet this has been a common situation for plenty of broadcasters on the internet. I've not dabbled in any blog or communities before Steem so yeah I've not been exposed to such a situation for myself.
I need to go on a date! It's been a while lol.
No problemo. I never blogged before in my life either. I ran some personal websites growing up showing people my artwork but nothing ever like here. Get out there! Best of luck!
I loved reading this! And I kinda recognize it, just not on this platform 😅 (yet 😉). At first I tried to reply to every single message and tried to be kind to everyone, but it is just impossible to keep up.
I guess that eventually you start to accept that you're not a superhuman. If you want to give to others and the community, it's important to take time for yourself. Everything just needs to be in balance.
Take care!
Never once thought I'd find myself in this situation! I guess things change! :) Thanks for sharing your experience @artwithflo
Ha ha the brutally honest blogs are by FAAAAAAR the best, because they are not very common here! Most people just look at your wallet and reputation and do not bother even reading the article before commenting on it, hoping to get a slice of your attention. I have hard time following up on mine, and I'm a small fish compared to you Kevin. Happy you de-cluttered your life man, always feels great, keep it up! P.S.: Hey, can you check my blog??? Me me meeee.....ha ha joking :D
I thought they're pretty common haha. Thanks, really feel super airy right now like i'm not wearing anything lol. Haven't been keeping up with your blog. What's the most magnificent piece you've done recently??
Ha ha you funny :D Shit bro I needed to take day off just to find your reply in the pile of replies on your blog, you're too popular maaaan :D I am working my ass off last few months, so there's tons of new pieces, but what's new to my world is that big crypto people started to commission me for their new upcoming cryptos, like these two below which I did for the CEO of Halo Coin (https://www.haloplatform.tech/) Scott Morrison. I finished the "Halo Bull" yesterday and nobody saw it yet, so you can feel tiny little bit spoiled right now haha @kevinwong
this:
size idea:
Wow, I feel like I really get what you're saying. There is a lot of possibilities to try to rape the system for cash, but even if you have that kind of influence... should you do it.. I guess nobody is stopping you for the most part, but how sustainable is it in the long term? About a year and a half ago I started writing a book and originally I just wanted to prove that I could so I could show it off, but as I kept adding to it, I wanted it to mean something. I mean, if it wasn't worth shit, why would I spend so much time on it. . Even on here, it kind of feels sleazy to just write a bunch of crap and advertise the hell out of it. I just seems like this community was create with such great intentions and it's almost disheartening to think people would conduct themselves like that...either way.. great post. I feel you.
It's a free for all playground.. I think I understand when some say that everybody should be more greedy buy putting more time and work into it. Really no great way to curb abuse/exploits that are not the obvious kinds. In any case, all good if there's a certain amount of loyalty amongst those earning well here, either if its a quick money grab or not. In the end I think most would support steem's price when it's low so I think this thing is quite invincible lol.
agreed!
I've experienced the same on Instagram when my following grew more than 5k. I stopped using it for quite sometime and resumed after months. Now I use it in a very limited manner. Your posts are of high quality. It would be wrong to call it milking tbh. Keep 'em coming! :D
Stopped using coz it had some effect? I was under the assumption that Instagram accounts have less obligation to the audience (but I've never been much of a social media person to know this). Thanks buddy. If I had more time, I'll milk more for sure xD..
I post stuff about motorcycles so I've gathered followers with the same interest. They have got a lot of questions which they DM. I end up answering most of their queries because they place trust in me which drains a lot of my time and energy. So I find it wise to reduce using the platform.
I agree when u say time spent on replying, comments, feedback and other things (for me also learning steemit to start of ) is really taking a lots of time.. i bet u are way more busier than I am. Like wise I dont really like to spend too much time on social media, but definitely a part of what i needed to embrace more. I guess i am still learning my balance since i got on steemit. Hope u be finding ur personal balance too. Thanks for stopping by and upvote whtever u think it's worth upvoting on my post. Very much appreciated for ur time :)
I think setting a time would be best. And maybe read like a good weekly newsletter on Steemit community updates (which is not easy to find and maintain). Like now, I'm looking at the platform for a good number of hours throughout the day. Need to change the habit and perhaps just use the platform at night :)
Agreed. I have to set a stricter time on my schedule and how i would like to spend my time. Good idea on the weekly newsletter. :)
Hi @kevinwong.
It's hard for me to understand about this #rewardpoolrapist thing. I do get some info on the discord channel but people always have mix view and I at time feel confused. But when I met @danielwong last Saturday, he explained it clearly to me and this post also shed some light on this issue. I think the problem is well stated but the issue now is how to fix the problem. Although flagging could be one of the solutions available right now but for plankton like me, it is just like shooting myself on the foot when a whale flags me back.
Oh it's more like an inside joke now. Anything anyone does to try to solve #rewardpoolrape ends up being part of it as well. It's just the nature of how things work and gets distributed. I don't think there's any real issue since everyone's free to exercise their votes and shares of the platform.. but yeah I do think top earners should get more scrutiny and its only right since this is a social platform and the organization as a whole should be more concerned about budgets.
Even as a newbie, I know I've done this at times but I got to realize that people who get curated don't even have to beg for it.
So therefore I made up my mind to channel my efforts into making quality posts rather than spamming another man's inbox
Cherish another man's inbox! Lol.. thanks @ungest. All the best with the Steeming :)
Lol, thanks @kevinwong
And about the autovote bot, that's a difficult thing because we newbies hardly even have up to 0.02$ worth of vote😂😂
That's the best axiom for one to adopt in regard to earning on this platform.
Praise.
Exactly, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this way.
thanks @viktorcapulet
I really understand what you're going through. With a large followership base and constant notifications popping up everywhere, you just need to prioritize what and what you need to check out and respond to. You just have to. There's no need to blame you cus it's very necessary.
I really do understand your point
Looking forward to see more wonderful posts from you. I always find time to visit your blog and read your posts.
I advise you spend some time to relax, exercise, eat good food and sleep well to avoid stress and anxiety.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Happy Steeming
Thanks a lot @enolife!
Keeping up with some progress on these points. Just feel bad I'm neglecting messages doing this though. No choice, I guess..
It is about keeping yourself motivated to write better..
It is about broadening your thinking..
It is about spending your time productively..
It is about making you think from a different perspective.
Well you can interact with the Steem blockchain any way you wish :)
I suggest not pasting the same generic reply on multiple blogs tonight. I upvoted it elsewhere because I didn't know it was a 4-5x copy and paste job.
There's always people who milk things on every platform and i think it's common. You shouldn't think about these guys, just focus on your blog and do what you want because if you don't and you start milking it or exploiding it with out you liking it then you get bored of it finally, thats why alot of top youtubers for example do what they want because they get sick of trying to be the best. They just accept the thing that if people like how they work then it's good but if not then they don't make big deal out of it because the creator himself is liking what he/she is doing, then will someone else too notice them and follow them
Good advice @riotpigeon, personally I don't harp much and actually happy people get to earn on the platform :)
i mean yeah , as long you enjoy it is all good, because im sure you don't want it to be a job :)
the best way to failure is by trying to please everyone
I understand that at this point, it's beyond you to attend to everyones needs. Honestly, I use to send links to people but I when I noticed it was the right thing to do I decided to stop. All the best sir.
Well said @enajo. But getting well paid by the protocol really does add a dimension of obligation. Best I could do to live up to the payment is to do the "job" well and help build the platform.
That top-earners pic makes me sad, especially for all the noobies coming putting their soul on the platform and getting pennies... Something has to be done to adress this as more and more people join. Just look at the front page, instead of better it gets shittier by the day :(
Delegate SP to proven curation groups! Oh well, it'll be amazing if there's one month where everyone can agree on the awesomeness of the front page :p
Well I actively "work" for one (steemstem) so I think it still counts :P
I think it is somehow frustrating pumping in comments and blog posts that will stay for 7 days with just a token of rewards or no returns at all. The most annoying aspect of
this is that, these posts are better than the ones that are yielding better rewards. I follow and upvote you.
Oh well, Steem is pretty good training-wheels to view how the world works. Sometimes i get depressed even, but regardless it's been a good platform and much better story than any content / social networks that gives value back to the users. I guess we just need to wait for the platform to mature. Entering year #3 soon
Well you got a rep of 75 you're like a magnet that attract, mist of them people need you to like them, you know maybe curate them, so they feel this best way to do it is ask funny questions.
It's you brother that's the perks of being famous, you gotta deal with it, and you will cope with dealing with them
It's been a journey! Fun but kinda stressful at times. Nothing too bad though. I guess everything has pros and cons :)
Certainly does you know, enjoy the perks lol 😂😂😂
End of the day there is hardly anything left to give it to the new user. These top 10 to 15 people are taking away everything from the reward pool while the new users are stuck at 0.01$ a post. Instead of selling votes if these people honestly upvote others then there is a lot of benefit for others.
True, agree with everything you've mentioned. It's definitely an interesting sight regardless..
Something has gone terribly wrong with recent rewardpoolrapists. Unfortunately, it harms the whole Steemit platform. That major abuse of the system cases Steemit to become really unappealing for both newcomers and regular bloggers on the platform.
I hope that something can be done in the future to fix this kind of abuse, otherwise, Steemit will not flourish and become the next Facebook.
Thank you for bringing this us @kevinwong. I hope that you will have a chance to balance your time management so that you can enjoy writing and will not have anxiety or worry. Only relaxation and enjoying yourself. Both fun and profit in other words :)
I need to learn some yoga and meditation! haha
It seems that you have missed that personal touch/feedback loop.
I don't know if you know @mudcat36 or @davemccoy, but they have started a project that could give you some of that, "yeah it is about the people", feel back if you really think that is what you have lost.
I am participating as I told @mudcat36 in a limited way, I let him know I did not have the time to fully participate but that I would where I could. It is a Newbie Help intro project. In short a mentoring type thing for people less than 40 Rep, and less than 30 days on steemit.
Just thought I would let you know about it.
Thanks for the notification. Sometimes the best way for newbies to get noticed is to concentrate on a particular tag of their interest and work on it. Less resteems on a new account is best too, as it doesn't clutter the bloglist when a curator checks out the account
Thank you, I will remember that advice when I try to help some of the new arrivals.
Hi kevin. Thank you for upvoting my previous post. It mean so much as it boost my confidence. Lately im a bit frustrated with the upvote I got. Im so into steemit that it become my bedtime and breakfast...is this addiction? Anyway, good luck with going to vacation and taking relaxing time. P/s if you need a friend...i got a single lady friend whose willing to accompany you ...provided that you feed her food every 3 hours. ... Lol..nah joking.
It's likely addiction, but probably a good one :) LOL let me learn how to flirt again first. It's been some time haha
I’m right there with you. I am quite private and it takes time for me to get to know someone. I keep my follow list small not to be overwhelmed. Comments that are searching for votes or show they didn’t read the post are ignored or just get a simple thanks. I love my free time and avoid becoming over committed. Have a great day.
Minimal commitments for the win..
I should follow whatever you're doing and just keep it on some manageable level!
Nice blog... I know I am not supposed to say that. I enjoyed reading it and do not require a response.
Haha.. now I feel obliged to respond! All good :)
I'm prick too, don't worry. Although I have only about 200 followers, have no time totalk with everyone.
Nowadays on steemit, I'm wasting my time debunking pseudo-science shit that is coming to polish tag cause I feel it's important.
Polish? I think English has plenty as well..
It’s understandable, Kevin. I can imagine your chat channel must be exploded with messages. I was off the chat for a month-ish bacause I was away and don’t have access to that. Already felt much quiter without that. For you, keep a chat channel open and trying to interact must be much more exhausting.
You've been using Steemit.chat on mobile??
I use steemit.chat on my computer and could never remember the password (computer remembers for me :D) , so when I'm away, I could never reach it on my phone. And discord, I couldn't reach the authentication code so I couldn't log in.
As long as the important players still speak up and react to the looting we are in safe hands. You are setting a good example alongside other witnesses.
It's not looting though since the protocol allows it, but I hope people can agree that anyone getting over-rewarded should be scrutinised. But it's really not easy for top earners when they get flagged. I've seen people go completely nuts over it and got called a communist for doing as such lol.
I flagged kingscrown and he retaliation flagged a few of my posts.
I do understand you sir @kevinwong 😁 we are only human being, we also get tired too for all these steemit works, i guess we should also look/take care on our self, just be healthy, dont overwork your self. "Health is Wealth" right? God bless us all Steemians!
It's inspiring to read stories of success! Like the one you have!
Thanks for sharing with us!
For me - I feel like with every post, every word I write, I get closer to my dream! Every little thing matters! Together we're the strongest!
Nice to see users taking writing seriously!
Words we use manifest our reality. At least that's how I feel so I choose wisely what to give out to the world.
Thanks for an answer!
Well said. I mean, people posting their thinks is a definite red flag. If someone does that to me, its usually an automatic ignore. As far as I'm concerned, the most popular people on this platform are involved in crypto. I hope that people from all walks of life can join this platform and form communities.
Man, I do feel jealous of these people getting huge payouts talking about crypto, but the way I see it is: every blog post I make, I want it to be an improvement from its antecedents. I hope that by focusing on myself and how I can improve, it will benefit both myself and the platform as well.
People are greedy; especially in steemit now. People need to calm the fuck down about "making money" on steemit and realize what an ingenious platform it can become. The parasites will eventually die off when they can't contribute anything of value.
