Holidays have always been my favorite part of school, get to chill with your friends, spending late nights gaming and doing nothing all day every day. But I wonder what teachers do during the holidays?
I remember a teacher I had at school, everyone hated her, she was a monster. The one day we asked her, "do you like children?" Her response stunned us, "Yes I love children" but what really shocked us was her facial expression.
I wonder if she eats children...?
Jokes aside I spoke to one of my favorite teachers a few weeks before school holidays and he told me this, "everyone thinks school holidays are for the students, but really it is for us. If we did not get them we would probably kill them."

nice one but you really made a good point in this post... i was actually of the view that students enjoy holidays which is true but being a teacher has its psychological issues especially handling so many radical students but that break is somehow helpful. Imagine teachers working all year like say Bankers or Factory worker, for sure it will be a disaster on their stress level... great post garnished with good comic relief ... nice one and keep it coming

Most teachers travel during holiday's. I think the holiday helps the teacher more because they will have time to do some things they couldn't do when school was in session.
Teachers also rest from the stress they have to go through shouting and trying to control students
well I teach children occasionally too so i so understand what you mean...children can be really lovely but sometimes the strain of explaining things over and over again could be overwhelming...so in my opinion its really for both of em
Lol... I still remember my primary school teacher that gave me 21 strokes of cane but teachers are great. Just like you, I don't want to be a teacher for anything. It's stressful. I do hope someday teachers will be treated fairly and be rewarded here on earth rather than just heaven.

Truthfully, I think it is both! Students need an opportunity to live life in unstructured ways (as opposed to the structure of a school day), and teachers need a break to be able to center themselves and focus on giving their best to their students. It works for both sides!
Wow 😳 you nailed it bro, school holidays really makes sense because it comes with so many desired addictions both to food, drinking, traveling etc.

Still not so sure what extraordinary things teachers do to warrant 3 months holiday a year. I worked 60-70 hours a week and took work home most evenings and weekends in major corporate's. Although trying to educate western kids who mostly resent education must be far worse than educating those who would do anything for a decent education. Maybe we should swap children. This did make me smile though because teachers are so good at whining about how hard their lives are. Get another job then lol
That's too bad. Every job could be part time and everything would still get done. There are new graduates every year

Yeah always laugh at some of the posts I see on facebook dealing with like the last month - week of teachers as they're getting ready for the end of the year and how they can't wait for summer vacation.

@dragonslayer109 Sadly, one poor teacher is remembered far longer than a great one...
Interestingly, teachers who love their work, would rather year-round schooling with two-weeks off every 'season', instead of the long, drawn-out time during summer when children forget much of what they learned the previous year.
You might be surprised to know that the first 6-9 weeks of the new school year is purely re-teachings of the previous school year.
Teaching is a gift. Those who aren’t really cut out for it, end up being the person in the last pix. Heavens forbid, they hide this ‘quiet’ addiction before getting hired. The children are the ones who suffer.
However, those who are genuine could never tire of the joy the profession brings. They’re the ones who would work for free if they had to.

Hahahaha, wow...... @dragonslayer109 I really found this topic let me say your post as far one year ago and I really fell in love with it, I followed you because I saw some real positive changing life post on your blog, so let me react to this before it too late, holidays is for everyone both the students and the teachers although some of the teachers stay back for coaching classes likewise some students. Thanks for sharing this.
