Enjoy my suffering. My loss can be your gain. Your landlord is going to hate me for this.
Excuse 19:
“The weather's been bad, so they shut down at work until it clears up.”
This is similar to Excuse 18 except that it gives the reason for the work shutdown or cutback up front. Naturally, the weather had to have been really bad. Because the problem is due to the weather, the temporary nature of the work reduction is self-evident to the landlord. Hence, this excuse takes a lot less explanation to make it believable and acceptable. Again, it helps if you can give the landlord some of the rent money and give an idea of when you will have the rest. Right now if you live in Texas, Hurricane Harvey is an example of really bad weather that is temporarily shutting down a lot of work for people.
Don’t forget to follow me to learn all these excuses. One is bound to fit your situation. And an upvote is always appreciated. It will help soothe these painful memories.
