Re: A Mother's Love (A Fundraiser) [Updated 7/4]

Good day. Not everyone in this world has access to all privileges. Some have all, some have most, some have some, and some even have none. Healthcare is not that accessible in most 3rd world countries. In the Philippines there are healthcare centers in most or all barangays (small place for residential houses in the Philippines) but it doesn't really cut it.

A teenage girl was left pregnant by her boyfriend, they're both just teenagers and came from poor families. At first, everything was good, the guy was supporting her and giving his all for the both of them. One day though, he said he had to leave to look for work somewhere else because he's being fired from his current job. The girl was sad but positive that this will be for the best. It was for her little baby, she said to herself.

Weeks gone by and their communication faded, it was not long after that he stopped talking to her. He was leaving her for good. The work was just an excuse. Moreover, he's leaving her for another girl.

We were very frustrated when we heard the news, there's a law here I think that can have the boy imprisoned if it's proven that he's the biological father and he refuse to support the child, however all those proceedings are complicated and can be costly and time-consuming. It is also too stressful for the soon-to-be-mom to handle. Not to mention, the guy cannot provide for the child yet, so if they continue with this legal matter, and everything goes according to law, he will just be imprisoned.

We shrugged, we just had to find ways to help this girl.

Poor families cannot afford decent healthcare. Free health clinics are there but it's limited. Only consultations and some medicines are free. Procedures needed to be done are sourced from outside clinics, which are a costly alternative for the poor. She can't afford to have an ultrasound, let alone all the other tests to make sure her baby's healthy. Moreover, she has to take in more vitamins & nutrients than before to provide for her unborn child.

Those procedures and medicines are what she needs. She can't get them free. She can't buy them. She was left alone with a baby in her womb. They don't need a loving partner or father now. They need help to go by each day. We hope her baby will do well being born and in life too.

We really appreciate it if we could help her even just for 1 or a few trips to the doctor to have her pre-natal procedures done.

Target is 25$ for one trip to the doctor. Post earning has to be 50$. If more are achieved then that would be great. She can have all the medical attention that she and the baby needs.

Update: We're able to get a donation of 18.05 SBD from a benefactor, thank you so much! We will be posting an update once the campaign ends. So far, any help is good and is much appreciated. We got an update that the mother in the story above may have to be hospitalized due to blood infection, we don't know the details yet. We will update this post once we have news. Thank you!
