JR has been given the go signal by his class adviser that he is going to attend this year's District Mathematics Festival of Talents. He is very sure about what motivates him — the championship. But it is important for him that his team want the same thing. So solving a Rubik's cube in seconds is actually their mission as members of the Speed Cube Juniors.
Believe it or not, there is only one correct solution to solve a Rubik's cube and JR's teammates are already preparing themselves to win the 3x3 and/or 2x2 challenge. If they can master the steps with JR's help and win the speedcubing event, they'll move forward to the regional competition.
Winning is important for the group but the possibility of the whole team winning any speedcubing challenge needs hard work; everyone of them should solve the cube in less than two minutes. This is a very basic piece of advice but they need help.
Here's the thing: the members of the Speed Cube Juniors now are new. So JR told each one of his member that they can win and showed to them that they can solve the cube in less than one minute. The whole point of encouraging his teammates and appreciating them for joining him is building confidence. And sometimes the best motivation for kids to feel that they are appreciated of their efforts is to give them gifts or rewards.
JR anticipated that some of them might back out of the event because they can't afford a good Rubik's cube to practice with, so he promised that he will find a way for each one of them to have a cube of their own. Plus, he planned to give them a group t-shirt that they could wear during the competition. He felt that his new team needed more support than ambition, so he asked us about Fundition's assistance in getting their wish answered.
