To be a better man, son, brother, husband and father.

in #fun7 years ago (edited)

A buddy of mine told me about this 30 day challenge during Lent, and asked if I'd be interested. Of course I said yes, I’m always trying to be a better husband and father today than I was the day before; I've learned that I can only do that if I turn to God for guidance.

Anyhow, one of the challenges is to read the Gospel every day and have a conversation with God about it. 548fc322367fb_-_rbk-phrases-he-hates-father-and-son-laughing-s2.jpgOther people call it prayer 😊

I read this passage a few years ago. It lead me down a path of forgiveness I thought I’d never take, and I was freed from a lot of anger and baggage that weighed me down. (Thank you God!)

I pray this passage frees you like it freed me, or at the very least start you down the path of forgiveness.

Todays Gospel is Mathew 6:7-15

Jesus said to his disciples:
"In praying, do not babble like the pagans,
who think that they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them.
Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

"This is how you are to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

"If you forgive men their transgressions,
your heavenly Father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive men,
neither will your Father forgive your transgressions."
