What's it going to take for people to get their heads out of their Facebook feed, and into the steemit wave!?
All Facebook has ever done for me is take and take.
It takes my photos. Takes ownership of any materials I post. And regulates it's users to their specifications.
I haven't seen them offer much of anyone any kind of profits for their content.
The most I've seen has been from multi level marketers who are continually exploiting the users and massive spread of available clientele through that channel.
Does this mean it's the only way? Hell no!
You and I both know, there's more to it than that. We are steemians!
We know that things are much more gratifying when we are able to share the wealth and provide our personal support within the community when we see something we like.
That like button, has such a hollow meaning. But now, let's look at our steem network. We all know where it is. What we got. And the potential we have for greatness.
Every day we are seeing the steem umbrella spreading with things like dtube, pornd, and the like.
Let's keep in mind, of course. Steemit is still in its beta phase. But what a hit!

I quit Facebook a while ago because I saw how I waste my time there without getting anything in return. A few days after I discovered Steemit. Now, instead of mindlessly scrolling my newsfeed I spend time on Steemit. It was the best decision I ever made.

Yes, I fall victim to this charade as well. Being as it is. We don't even communicate our phone numbers we have. Just Facebook contacts. Our society is building a reliance on that service that just takes from us.

Absolutemente! We need to take control of our own resources. And push the Facebook censorship out of our way. Too often people are thrown in Facebook jail for expressing their personal opinions.

There is some sort of censorship here too though. I think whales have too much power. If you say something a whale doesn't like, you get flagged. Also, it's like some people try too hard to be nice and not really express themselves so they can get upvoted.
Those people don't get my upvotes. Alot of bots and try hards. Like, I've got a radar for that shit. Just be genuine and come from the heart. That's the stuff!

I've been trying to ignore The Facebook since I started steeming but until Steemit has direct messages and better community features It will be difficult to cut the cord entirely.
