My First Entry for Fruits and Veggies Monday!

in #fruitsandveggiesmonday7 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemers!

I found @lenasveganliving's Fruits and Veggies Monday competition this morning and after looking through all the beautiful entries in the tag I decided I'd have a go myself. I have a bunch of vibrant leafy greens growing at the moment which I thought would be perfect for the occasion :)

Today's picks were purple lettuce, Romaine, little gem, spinach and some green garlic onions. These will be chopped up into the salad wraps I am planning for our supper, yum!

I hope you all liked my first entry, I look forward to posting more of these. Thank you to @lenasveganliving and everyone involved for the great incentive to share beautiful vegetable photography with the community :)

@gardeningchef, nice one. I am the great meat eater, but since I started working and exploring in my school garden, I became a vegan for a full month already.Found you on gardening category yesterday when I posted an article, so nice that here are more people working with the goods of nature. :) Good content out here, I will be back. :) Enjoy, @keyss.

I am a fairly new gardener so I am still learning, but I hope you'll enjoy my future gardening posts!
Have a great day :)Thanks for the compliments @keyss! How's being vegan going for you?

@gardeningchef, it was going great until I got back home for holidays. But now I will start again. :) Hope to read more of your posts. All the best, @keyss.

These veggies look yummy :) It is really great that you grew them yourself.

Thanks @landarch.milica :) I started growing veg recently so it's all fairly new to me!

Finally, something for vegetarians

Hi @timajimmy, I am a vegetarian indeed so any recipes you find on my blog will be veggie!

I hope you like them :) and thanks for your comment!

Congratulations for your entry my Dear, and great job with your own veggies!! I love gardening, too, even though I can't do it here in Mexico right now, but I did it back home in Hungary.

Thank you so much @plantbasedmiri :) that is a shame you aren't able to do gardening in Mexico. No space for it?

So fresh looking i love my salads and you just made me hungry for one , nice to join us @gardeningchef :)

I hope I inspired you to make a delicious salad!Thank you for the welcome @hangin! These were picked minutes before I took the photos so they couldn't be fresher :P

You welcome and you did thank you :)

Looks so fresh, I am still dreaming of a garden with loads of fruits and veggies on my own! Of dark leafy greens kale is my favorite - do you also have some of that growing?

Ohh @rawadventuress you should totally get a garden going! I just started gardening a few months ago and it is very rewarding :)

I don't have any kale at the moment! I am planning on planting some rocket though ;)

I am still on the move right now, but will eventually settle somewhere warm, so that my tropical fruit and veggie garden has to wait a little bit. But I can already imagine myself in my green gardening clothes, dark soil an my hands and a basket of freshly harvested mangos in front of me :) Rocket is definitely also on my list - such a versatile little treasure!

A basket of freshly harvested mangoes sounds like a dream come true, they are my favourite fruit :)

Wow super beautiful and I am a little envious. Fresh greens can be hard to find in the tropics. Those look so vibrant and delicious I just want to munch them all together is an organic feast!!!!! Beautiful photo quality ... needless to say, you always do the best job! Lovely presentation I wish you lots of good energy for the contest.

I am surprised you cannot get lovely greens so easily in the tropics! I shall have to send you some seeds sometime :) pleased you enjoyed my photos!!

Thank you for the well wishes in the competition, I hope I do well!

No collards?

I have never eaten collards before. I read they are like spinach, is that true?

No not thin and slimy when cooked. Basically the Daddy of Kale...collard greens why African Americans such strong athletes.
