I would have to agree with you. I lived in Japan for a while and found it to be the most accomodating, nicest place I've ever been.
France was very rude to me as well. In Paris as a 14 year-old, I mispronounced something off a menu and the waiter humiliated me. It was pretty bad........also in Paris.
