Eating potato chips( french fries) two or more times a week may increase the risk of death, according to a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The conclusion was drawn after researchers analyzed the potato consumption of 4,400 Americans aged 45-79 for eight years.
Research shows that consumption of the tuber itself does not potentiate the chance of premature death. However, when the analysis focuses on the groups that indicated eating potato chips (french fries) two to three times a week - or even more - the increased risk of death is evident.
