Well it's been a week since my doctor told me I wouldn't live to see 70, if I didn't have a gastric bypass. I'm down 19 lbs. and only have 250 lbs. to go. I still have my appetite, plus I haven't seen the specialist yet. I'll have to inquire about the specialist appointment, but not till next week. I have the Festival of Flowers to worry about this weekend.
I just came from a luncheon with a few retired postal workers, at a Mexican restaurant. I skipped the tortillas and the chips, and stuck with the chicken fajitas, picadillo, and calabasita. Plus, I only had one plate at a buffet.
I'm kinda proud of myself right now.
Now if only poker works out for me tonight, keep your fingers crossed.
Losing it one day at a time!

Augh, health. I wrote about mine in the freewrite today, too. I have had similar challenges so I'm here if you need to vent. Rooting for you!
Good luck. You have to take care of your health and you will find what works best for you. I wish you the best.
Congratulations on losing 19 pounds! It does take effort to change our diets to become more healthy, but it's definitely very worth it. You have a great reason to be proud of yourself. Be well my friend and good luck with your poker!
So proud of you taking charge of your body and taking a day at a time to welcome change. We shall remind ourselves to take good care of our living temple so that we can live to enjoy more! :)
