I used to hate muddling herbs. Well, really, I resented my teacher’s instructional strategies. She would always tell me that the “Eskran art of healing is all in the muddling technique. Light and gentle twists.”
While all my classmates moved on to more advanced practice, I was stuck perfecting the art of muddling!
You’ve crushed the leaf too much and made it too potent.
Your nasty attitude has been distilled into the sample. The spell will never go right with that spiritual contamination.
The lacquer on your muddler has contaminated your specimen.
The essence of your base is not right.
The essence of my base was not right! It’s just a bowl! I used to argue with her. One time, my teacher made me do a three day silent meditation retreat to get my spirit in order so I wouldn’t keep contaminating my supplies with resentment.
She’s been gone many months now and I’ve assumed her place. I’m so overwhelmed with everyone’s need for services. Infections, fertility problems, malnourishment, disease.
When it gets to be too much, I spend the day muddling herbs and the ritual of it gets me back into order.
This 5 minute freewrite prompt brought to you by @mariannewest. Come join the fun!
This is fascinating for a 5-minute read... Are you an herbalist?
I have to laugh! I'm not even close! I suppose it wasn't entirely clear but this was supposed to be from the perspective of a character who is like an herbalist and was reflecting on her old teacher's frustrating way of instruction. Thanks for reading and commenting. :)
No! You don’t have tk explain. That’s the fun of the freewrites!
I hope all of mine aren’t coming across as mini auto-biographies 😎😎
But... I thought it was autobiographical too 🎈👍🏾
Oh geeze I ruined the "magic" but I also don't want to misrepresent myself like what if she like wants to follow to get herbal posts?? Hahaha! Imma see if yours are ambiguous like this one was.
Of course, I just meant we don’t have to write disclaimers on all our work. It would be funny though, if you started getting those of us interested in herbs following you. You obviously have some knowledge ❤️
Well you did a great job! You had me fooled LOL
Me too!
I dig this. Resteemed. :) - Keep the quality coming. Unique... I like it.
WHOA this is my first resteem EVAR. That's awesome!
My pleasure 😊🤙
There were so many aspects woven into this story. Thank you for sharing ❤️
Ahhh, from the student to the teacher! Such an interesting dichotomy. Great freewrite topic and one I haven't seen yet!
Also, I am visiting all of the freewriters who commented yesterday to help @mariannewest so here is the prompt for today!
Thanks for joining us!
