It's been estimated by experts that trillions of dollars from the global economy is being lost from illegal and reckless fishing activities around the globe.
The overfishing issue could have huge impacts in the future because there's an increasing risk of the World's oceans running out of fish and this would be a disaster to the future generations in terms of their diet health.

Fish is being wasted by many fishermen to such an extent that just one in three fish caught around the World fails to make it to the meal plate because it's either left to rot before being consumed or thrown back overboard into the sea. This was stated by the credible Food and Agriculture Organisation.

Overfishing will cause other wildlife that solely depends on fish to die from starvation and as a result will mean more extinct wildlife.

The overfishing issue can be resolved by establishing more marine reserves, to step up monitoring and enforcement on the illegal fishing actions, to set up precautionary fish catching limits and to tackle bycatch and wasteful fish discards.

Fishing must be done in a more sustainable way by taking away the greed aspect and removing the unregulated and unreported way of fishing.
A reduction in overfishing may only be achieved by putting up clear warning signs and even surveillance cameras in the zones where fishing is common.
