What did you Learn from that Monkey? Day 146: 5 Minute Freewrite Wednesday prompt: Monkey

Fun Story about a monkey the first thing that comes up is a Tale my Father always told me as a kid.You see my Father was in the Navy as a Young Man in his 20's traveling the world and living life from port to port. One day on Shore Leave him and his crewmates went on a sightseeing tour to Kilamanjaro. While on Killamanjaro he and his buddies started to Drink and feel more invincible than they really were, after all they had been on a ship for 6-month tours during Vietnam. My father being the "Karate Expert" he thought he was had a great idea that he would feed the Baboons that were living around the tourist attractions begging for food. So my father tried to impress his mates by holding out his hand with peanuts and when the baboons would reach out to take it he would smack them on the hands. One of the Baboons had him numbered and got smacked a few times before he figured out the game. Since my Father thought he was quicker than the baboons he didnt see the Monkey plotting its revenge. The Monkey waited until my father went to smack his hand and quickly pulled back and scratched him instead. Smart Monkey. So the story goes that my father caught Scarlet fever from the dirt under the Monkeys Nails and was packed in Ice with a fever of 104 for 21 days after that incident. Needless to say my Father learned a lesson from that Monkey----- Dont assume your the fastest or best any one thing theres always someone watching to see your next move!
