At her side, the vinyl record spun contentedly. Upon her lap, the tears fell without sound, as the sound of music rose and fell upon the gentle light of the lamp.
She couldn't move. The record played, such gentle, excruciating songs. Her fingers felt the smooth wood of the piano at their tips, but she couldn't begin to play a note.
Oh how sweet the sound, how deep the magic, how far the journey, how bright the horizon. She felt like she could spend an entire lifetime simply flitting excitedly from one record to the other, delighting in the sounds they contain, and pouring her very life into learning how to play, one after one after the other.
And it was but such an ordinary evening, not unlike this evening last week. At some strange, strange moments, life finds you unaware, and opens the gates of passion, and it pours, and it threatens to annihilate you with its very richness.
Just yesterday life had felt unbearable, screeching and scratching its way along with wicked claws red with dried blood, demanding of her soul every bit of moisture, so that she is left but a husk. But then, with the simple nonchalance of a lazily rotating vinyl, the floodgates are laid bare, and suddenly there seemed so unthinkably much to do, to chase, to learn, to taste. Life is a rainbow, an adventure etched in a thousand glittering facets, a song of glissandos, of cascading, shimmering sound.
Through her welling tears she could see the morning, and her heart ached at the thought. The simple vision of walking out into the bright air, to get some eggs and tea for breakfast. Oh the eggs and tea, oh the morning, oh the sunshine, oh the wind. The very thought of wind upon her hair blew her away. Her heart could not cease to marvel, as the vinyl continued, with rotations unfathomably ordinary, to weave the notes.

Thought I'd title things honestly :) This took me 10 minutes, and I actually could feel the inspiration blow in me as I was enjoying some music when I saw the prompt - which today is vinyl.
Haven't done this for more than a week now, what with travelling and falling sick and writing my previous long post (which was more in line with the sort of things I at first chiefly wanted to write, before I discovered freewrite as a wonderful distraction :)
Anyway I think this turned out quite well. Hope some of you would enjoy it!
I think this turned out beautifully. I love your descriptions and the passion in your writing. Well done.
Thank you so much!
Welcome back. This #Freewrite was full of passion and full color. I enjoyed it and look forward to more writing. Thanks!
I'm here with the Thursday prompt.
