Last Week's Challenge
Last week, I had promised to share the SBD earnings of all prompt post with those who met these conditions:
- Post at least 2 freewrites in the 7 days
- Use the prompt - I will not accept posts which have nothing at all to do with the prompt. The idea is to write something new for this challenge.
- Leave a link to your freewrite or copy your 5 minute freewrite in the comments of the prompt.
- You must do all - I can’t hunt you all down to try to count you.

28 Freewriters qualified for the SBD share (not including me)

I've learned a lot just by browsing through all the daily entries in steemiteducation and I sure cannot vote for all I would like to over there. The variety and level of quality is quite amazing. I hope I can break into it with a theme or series - this is what I'm working on now.

So, I have been wanting to write about it in a prompt and I will soon. But how about you use a dictation device and speak your freewrite? Then you just clean up the "misunderstandings" and you can do that with one hand.
Thank you for the suggestion. I don't want to do that. The use it or lose it means I must exercise my remaining hand.
that makes sense. Then you claim 10 minutes for your 5 minute freewrite - sine the rest gets to use 2 hands :) But what you wrote above was so great - no need to change anything!!

I do my freewrites the old- fashioned way - by hand in a notebook. It then takes me about 10 minutes to type them in. I can't type.
Thank you so much!! But no pressure. Some of us have nothing yes, and others have more. It's all good. And in the end, we are doing this to write more, to have fun together and not so much to make money, right? that is a welcome byproduct.
I just wrote that because I thought others might donate if they see someone has. True about the money! I found the best thing to do is forget all about it then, suddenly, you have some to power up :)

Your freewrites are perfectly fine and more technically honest than mine. I read the prompt, find a photo, then format my post, and THEN I type. That whole time, my brain is squirreling away. That is if I don't read the prompt and then get distracted by making dinner or doing the dishes or whatever.
Since we're all confessing...I usually think a little bit before writing. I like to come up with a theme at the very least.
Good idea. I was thinking that I'd like to do the freewrite spontaneously for this challenge. Then after about a week, go back to it and develop it into a very short story. That's what I'm going to try, time allowing.

I like this idea but for those of us (like myself) who is super brand new I have nothing to donate. I want to contribute though. What’s the best thing for us? Is it just Togo and check out the other freewriters and follow/upvote/resteem as we feel lead based on their content?
I think that would be great!! Just know that your voting power goes down very fast. A good policy is to only vote once every 2 hours or though. Otherwise, it is not good for you (no curation reward at all) or for the writer. And I think comments are great! We all want to know that someone even looks at our stuff. :)
Obviously, just participating in the freewrites is a plus for the writer - practice, getting a post out, accumulating material to build on and of course the community we are creating here. But I love to be able to reward people. Still learning how this platform works. I am sure with time, things get clearer :)

I was about to be executed for a sin I never did. crying my near demise. And looking at the bubbling oil in pot I was about to be put in.
"Any last words?" said the executer.
"Tell you'r master, this pain of mine is nothing compared to what you'll see in hell."
It's an achievement for me, because usually I spend full 5 minutes thinking of the next word sometimes.
Do I have to make this as a post with #freewrite tag, and not just a comment here?...
Finally, am I allowed to write anything then edit the result after the 5 minutes pass?
Because I edited this in those 5 minutes, but it's not enough to make a good edit...
You can leave it as a comment if you don't want to make a post. The idea of the freewrite is that you just write - no thinking. Just follow what your fingers are typing out. Even if it is : "I can't think of anything, I can't think of anything.... then something will pop up. And certainly no editing during that time. This allows the inner critic to quiet down and creativity to flow.
Somedays, not much will pop up - and on other days - you suddenly have the beginning of a story or an article right there.
Ooh!!.... can't do without editing a bit because I'm the type who rewrites each sentence at least three times, But thanks... maybe I'll put everything from my mind next time no matter how little since it makes as written words.
There you go. That 's the spirit. You can always edit later. The whole point is to let that critic be quiet for a while and not worry about spelling and all of that. That is for later after the thoughts were allowed to flow freely :)

It is very easy. There is a prompt. Sometimes one word, sometimes a picture, sometimes a sentence or a phrase. Then you set a timer for 5 minutes and start writing whatever comes to your mind from that prompt. no stopping until the timer goes off. Then you can fix the spelling and publish - either as a post or as a comment under the prompt post.
