I used to like rain.
When I was a kid, I could stand for hours watching the drops chasing each other on a windowpane, imagining that they were competing for something vital. Or I stayed awake listening to the sound of the rain at night, lying, still, under the blankets.
The rainy days have always tickled my creativity, I don't know why: simply, I felt more inclined to create new things, more facilitated to think.
All this, now, is gone forever, ruined and canceled, since the Red Rain falls on us.
I read in the Book of the prodigious and inexplicable rains of fish in the desert, of the disturbing rains of frogs, or I saw in the Box the terrible acid rain that scarnify the trees and burn the earth, but the Red Rain is something else.
The Red Rain is the fault that we will never shake off.
Now everyone looks up worried, as the clouds thicken on the horizon. They hastily run away, their faces closed in an anguish that it's useless even to communicate to others around them. They seek shelter in the houses, in the underground tunnels, but it's all useless, because the Red Rain falls everywhere, the Red Rain falls INSIDE.

Oh, the red rain!!!
It happens...
Intriguing, I love what you did with this prompt and the end the Red Rain falls inside
Well done.
Thank you! :)
Is the red rain like a real thing or just a figment of it imagination?
The Red Rain came to my mind almost automatically, when I was writing (it's a freewrite, ater all). I think it may be a metaphor for the sense of guilt everybody feels.
That was great my friend, I really really enjoyed this very much! The red rain comes, it is coming! 😮
Thank you for the comment! I would still be an innocent child, unaffected by the Red Rain
I would love to read more of this! How terrible that, on top of the plagues being wrought upon the writer, he had to suffer the twisting loss of a beautiful part of his childhood.
Thank you for your appreciation!
I'm starting to think I was somehow talking right about the loss of childhood innocence ;)
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
YOU were very sneaky!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVED this and So happy you wrote today!! I miss your stories!
I'm glad you liked the twist in my story...after the time ran out, I wondered what I would mean with it. Sometimes, freewrites are a bit like a psychoanalytic session.
I couldn't agree more!! :D
Wow. Stunning visuals.
(I used to imagine the rain drops on the windows were competing as well!!!)
Thank you! I guess every child has done that ;)
Good science fiction piece! It was easy to make mind pictures from your descriptions!
Wow! This is a great compliment from a photographer like you! :)
But I'm not sure it's a sci-fi piece, maybe it's a metaphor...
Holy cow Marco! Very visual and a great impact with few words..well done!
Thank you, my friend! The app doesn't let so much freedom of using a lot of words. It teaches you to concentrate and maximize every sentence ;)
Im truly amazed that you wrote this using that app..
After the app, I wrote the last sentence and corrected some typo and punctuation. It isn't so much difficult, I think you could obtain good results too!
