Think - Freewrite

Thinking is an interesting thing.

It's a good idea to think about things before you do them.

It's bad to overthink things though.

The truth is that there is a balance.

I know that my sister sometimes stays up at night thinking about all the things she could have done differently.

That is counterproductive.

She's thinking about things that she can't change.

It's called circular thinking and it gets you nowhere.

Now, sometimes it is a good idea to think about things you could have done differently. You just don't want to stay up all night doing it because you will interfere with the sleep you should be getting.

On the other hand, I sometimes find myself meditating at work.

Meditating is a skill that involves blanking out the mind as one of it's factors.

I work at a restaurant so blanking out my mind is not very difficult. I can still remember orders even with a blank mind.

However, sometimes I will notice that I'm not really all there because I'm not thinking enough about what I'm doing.

I guess you could say that if you never think about anything then life could just pass you by without you really paying close attention to it.

At the same time...... if you think about things all the time then you're going to be trapped in your own mind instead of experiencing the world for all its beauty and pleasure.

There should be a balance in all things that we do.

So let's take the middle road.

Let's think things over on occasion.

Let's not overthink things so that we're staying up at night though.

We all need our rest.

Maybe you should think about that.

@jeezzle, I started writing a reply to your post, but when I realized that my answer exceeds three hundred words, I decided to make a post. Therefore, my reply to you is here: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@minnaloushe/freewrite-thinking, if you want to go and check it out. However, as always, you are upvoted and I support your lovely views on life.

Very nice post. I checked it out and i can say for sure you are favoured by God.
May God's protection always abide with you and your family. Amen

I'll check it out. I'm glad that I was able to inspire a post.

Thinking about the past can only make us stronger for the future.

Time will fly by in the present unless we are aware of what is happening to us.

I think freewriting can be associated with journaling where we can let loose our thoughts and be a new person every single day.

I think you are right in not trying to overthink our life and get on with what we want to do to make ourselves happy.

Absolutely. By knowing what happened before we can take the right roads in the future.

very motivated in writing something, thanks for sharing, all over time I just reading to writing something, so I can use this methode in the next :)

Thank you for your comment.

my pleasure @jeezzle, greeting :)

thank you for posting this, full of sensations. Life does need balance, nature also has a balance. Especially with our life.

Definitely. It's all about balance.

I think this post is directly for me. There was a time in my life i was "over thinking", particularly sometime last year. I had a mega flop in something i was working on and that was pretty frustrating. I kept wishing i could turn back the hands of time, to do things differently. I was over thinking and gradually loosing my balance.

But once i found out how unhealthy that was, i realised there was always an option...to just quit over thinking and look at the present. I couldn't fix it, then why the hell could i not move on already?

Thank you my friend @jeezzle

I had gone back to check up on 'circular thinking' but could only find 'circular reasoning' and still do not understand the later's definition, so i cannot relate.

Everyone wishes that they could turn back the hands of time but all we can do is try to make the future better.

Very undisputed sir...!

I always appreciate a freewrite. I've done it twice. I was introduced to the concept on steemit.
Let's just say I developed a healthy respect for it.

Freewriting is fun. I recommend everyone try it.
