Thank you!! Hope you write with us again :)
here is the new prompt https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-71-5-minute-freewrite-prompt-toothache

@mariannewest, you are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! Your initiative is genius and your help and support to everyone here is outstanding! Hats off to you!!

Thank you for all the links included in your 5 Minute Freewrite intro article. I read with the great interest your chosen posts, and I found your timer link super handy. I always used my kitchen timer when I needed to time something when working on my computer, that timer site will be much better :-)

The Blue-Pencil Editors is a cool and clever idea too. As to me, I am using Grammarly, but I only have the free version and always wonder about those advanced issues found...

If I start really writing on Steemit, (if... for I am still debating if Steemit is for me), I will get the premium one and will check once and for all, if a software program can really do a job of a human editor.

And as to that if... From a monetary viewpoint, I am afraid that Steemit is very shrewdly designed; that most of the members here instead of withdrawing their earnings, will keep on Powering Up for the future profits and recognition, and that new members will keep on spending most of their hard earned money on various upvote bots and other "helpful services".

That Steemit, like most of the online opportunities, is a hen laying golden eggs, but not for all, but mainly for those who joined at the beginning.

I saw some ugly posts concerning the flagging wars, (that surely was not encouraging), and I saw some more not so nice things...

But, on the other hand, I met here people like you and many other wonderful people, and the idea of the blockchain powered social blogging platform is a beautiful idea that can positively influence many. many people.

I hope it was OK for me to share this here even though I do not participate in the 5 Minute Freewrite Challenge. Though, you know what, that was kind of 5 Minute Freewrite ;-)

Yes, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts.

I agree that it is heavily tilted towards those who started early and they have a lot of power on the platform. The flagging wars were awful and personally, I am not very much into the bot thing. Actually, the white papers say there shouldn't be bots...
That said, I feel that this platform also has some very supportive people on it and it certainly pays more than FB or any of those platforms do.
I think in the beginning, people do need to power up all their earnings to get to more voting power and reap curation benefits. but there are quite a few who have made working on here their main job and cash out the SBD they are earning and keep growing their steempower with the steem portion of the pay out.

And Steemit has share buttons to at least FB and Twitter. So, any post to those platforms can be written on here and then shared.

But I know what you are saying. If you already have a good income from other platforms, this might not be so attractive - but could be part of an overall strategy.

Hope you stay and at least post once in a while :)

Marianne, I was going through all your blogs now and just realized that you have resteemed my last post. Thank you very much for it, I should have noticed that earlier, there are still so many things I need to learn and know here.

Instead of reading all the FAQ here and the white paper, I prefer to spend that time reading people's posts and learn in the process. This is my usual learning style, I hardly read any instruction manuals ;-)

Once again, thank you very much for all your help and support, and nope, I am not going anywhere yet, I am going to give Steemit my 25% best effort. The other 75% goes now into altcoins and trading. Quite a lot has changed in my life from the time I wrote my intro post here, Maryanne I am slowly but surely becoming a crypto coins trader :-)

good for you!! I still haven't gone that route yet. But will...

Marianne, please help me here:

how in a fair blogging system platform, one can get more votes than views??

I am NOT teazing you, I am sincerely looking for a sensible explanation.

(BTW, it feels super good knowing that I can write here and you will read me, but, it is you, not the system ;-)

fair - I don't know if any system is fair. That said, it looks like you got lucky and had a curator give you a vote. Often, curators have a whole trails of votes following them.

This is good for the person who gets the vote - but also for the person voting. by voting, you earn curation rewards. Granted, they are much less than author rewards, but still, it is something. If you let your 100% voting power just sit there, it doesn't do anyone any good.
Many people want this platform to succeed and want people who post quality content to stay. So, they actively look for good posts and give them attention. Obviously, that takes a lot of time and not everyone can do this. But many want to support those authors as well. So, they join a curation trail. A finds the content, votes on it and B_Z automatically also cast a vote - often a very small percentage, but en mass, it adds up.
they earn curation rewards without having to worry about it, the person voted on gets a better payout and hopefully, everyone is happy in the end.
Hope that makes sense...
