Prompt: Cracker
I don’t want to be a cracker. I want to be a scone, a tea cake, a cookie. Anything but a flat sheet of something bare of beauty and character.
Others have popping colors and dainty things on them, we have nothing but holes.
I bet they taste perfect for tea, coffee and milk. I bet they look great at parties.
How about us, crackers? Even the bowl we are served in looks as bland as we are. All we ever do is break into little pieces and crack in different places.
But then I remember the fingers that reach out to get us - always eager, always sincere. So does it really matter if we look nothing like those pretty things?
Here's the link for today's freewrite prompt.
The little fingers are what matters. 😎
Indeed. :)
Crackers are one of the simplest forms of snacks, but they definitely serve their place in the world of food! Great job with your freewrite!
Yes, everything has its place. Thank you so much!
I root for the crackers! Simple and their crunch never disappoints. Also versatile. Great perspective!
Yup, I love them for being unpretentious. :)
Likely the first tale ever narrated by a cracker...nice one!
