"Broken" - an original fictional 5 minute #freewrite based on the prompt 'pillow'

She picked up the pillow and clutched it too her.

Would she really do this?

Could she really do this?

He was lying on his back, snoring. He always snored after drinking. He always slept afterwards. The anger exhausted him, he said. He always apologised when he awoke.

He was always so sorry.

She approached the bed and looked down on him.

Who has the power now, she thought, hugging the pillow to her.

She pushed the pillow down on to his face and held it hard against his mouth. He began to struggle and she feared she would not have the strength to keep the pillow in place. His arms came up, clawing at her, hitting out at her, as they had done so many times.

Her demons came to help her. She found her strength from them. Their thin powerful hands clamped over hers, and helped her push the pillow down onto his face, and his arms stopped flailing and his feet stopped kicking and he stopped breathing.

She stayed like that, her hands on the pillow, for sometime...

This story follows on from Break a one paragraph story I wrote yesterday.. The picture is a posterised picture I took of my own hand. I wrote this story in 5 minutes using http://www.themostdangerouswritingapp.com, I added line breaks and italics afterwards.

Yeah, it followed on from a story I wrote for fox tales (https://steemit.com/foxtales/@felt.buzz/break-an-original-fictional-story-for-fox-tales). The hands were demons in that one (they restrained her) so I thought it would be nice if they then started to help her...
