Day 824: 5 Minute Freewrite: Wednesday - Prompt: radish

Clusters of radish pods began to appear on radish plants grown under both blue and red light. This trend appears to occur at all stages of growth, which suggests that other mechanisms of light stimulation of seeds do not provide an independent advantage to radish plants. It is noteworthy, however, that radish plants from plants in the full growing cycle were raised under blue light only. Using blue and red light could induce selective bimodal floral morphogenesis, similar to those observed in strawberry plants growing under green light.
To explore how light influences internal markers of ripeness in the tomato, red and green light were used to supply the light for a single day and night in two tomato plants. The red and green lights resulted in the survival of one.
It is truly a wonderful phenomena how natural process is effected by different light spectrums.
