Entry 34
There is an eternal struggle that has raged on for many moons. A tug of war so frightening it can often define the measure of a man or woman. This war can only be won by the self. Only internal perserverance can turn the tide.
What is this battle you ask?
Excuses and Success.
See one can not live while the other breathes. Success can be defined in many different ways. Money, friends, love, passion. However YOU define success, however I define success, it doesn't matter. We all have the same roadblock up ahead. Excuses.
Excuses like to take a right hook towards the face of your own success. They scream at you when you rise after an alarm at 5am. They gnaw at your brain to stay in bed instead of going for a run. They nag you in to thinking that staying in the warmth of those quiltted sheets will make you happier. Maybe they will. Maybe for the next hour you'll sleep like royalty. But in 10 weeks when you run that marathon 2 minutes over your PB... well that's when it hits. That's when success bends the knee.
You, I, we. All of us, every single day have to shove our excuses off a cliff. Use every single fibre in our body to ignore. I mean, would you rather success, or excuses?
#Freewrite
Every now and again I write for 5 minutes continuously and do not stop until the timer runs out. What you read is a stream of words coming out all at once. No editing, no worrying. I find this creates amazing stories as you just have to let the words take you, rather than force them out. Enjoy.
Very motivational indeed! It’s the midweek prompt delivery team here with your challenge for today: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-390-5-minute-freewrite-wednesday-prompt-sweating
