Likely a throwback to my Punk days when I used to paint my face white with clown makeup, I’ve never liked colour on my skin; no blusher, no eye shadow, no lipstick and most certainly no sunburn
We Irish don’t tan, we burn, so I tend to stay out of the sun, and when I can’t avoid it, I dress up to my head and down to my toes.

I was in Acapulco last week, a temperate 30 degrees Celsius, and while others took to the quad bikes on the beach in bikinis, T-shirt and shorts, I wore a long-sleeved shirt, leggings, boots and a headscarf. I wish I had a photo for you, but I’ll go to my grave never having taken a selfie! I did get some funny looks, but no sunburn.

I definitely understand the point of view of the person keeping protected on the beach. My significant other always has at the very least a long-sleeve and a hat at hand when we are on the beach or even just walking around in nature and I'm starting to take the behavior on too after some painful sunburns.
Yep, I don't tan either. Hats and long sleeves are my summer friends...

That's an awesome picture lol! You're very scrupulous about not letting the sun - or cell phone cameras - get to you. Sometimes "skulking and cowering in the shadows" can be more fun anyway ;)

I live in the UAE, 30 degrees is Spring weather. When I visited UK in July, I was freezing.
Isn't it great to come from an era where your photo album was filled of images of other people.
I love the sun but don't want to end up like a dried up prune. Wearing lots of sunscreen helps to keep me pasty white.

Meetup in Crypto Cafe was a blast. Got 17 or 18 people and filled the whole place. Loads of new faces but we missed your
oldfamiliar one. Just in case your ears were burning it was Mitchhunter and I having a good old chinwag about you;)There's only one thing worse than being talked about and that is missing out on my one day a month night on the town, pity I missed it. I hope to make the next one but juggling a life and a son can be difficult.

I had to take a selfie to verify my account on some exchnage - horrible experience!
But I do love a tan, even though I've developed a sun allergy a few years back... still, I won't give up!
For someone like myself who grew up in the 80s, the selfie is a strange thing indeed. As I remember it, I went out of my way to avoid having photos taken.
As for the tan, I'll leave that with you while I skulk and cower in the shadows.
