If I'm understanding you correctly.
What I'm understanding (which, let's face it, is basically always interpreting from our own experience and perspective so bears checking) you are saying is:
People who don't take responsibility for their mistakes are trapped in repeating cycles of "mistakes" / "stuck" in self destructive patterns that don't work for them and those around them (I totally agree)
People who aren't accountable hold those around them captive by not changing what doesn't work and halting possible growth and progress (agreed)
