This is the case if you live in Sweden and Germany and it seems to be spreading, nowadays it seems harder and harder for parents to choose what they think is best for their children without the courts breathing down their necks.
Imagine the horror of having your child taken simply because you had chosen to homeschool them instead of sending them to be programmed, bullied and made to feel inadequate or stupid at a state school. Why are we forced to send our children to be a part of a system that is obviously failing hundreds of thousands if not millions of children every year?.
Our Dance With The Devil.
We knew it was illegal to homeschool in Sweden which is why we had been planning to move for over 4yrs, the time had come for our eldest to start school and we were very nearly ready to move, we only had one week that overlapped School starting and us leaving, we were sure we could leave in a civil manner without having any problems because in the back of our mind we thought "they can't possibly stop us from leaving the country".
WRONG!!! After receiving a threatening phone call on the Friday, saying that if we do not send Marley to school on Monday then she would be put on the child protection services list we decided to do a bit of research.
This coupled with a tip off from one of our followers we found out that the Swedish government frequently kidnap children from homeschooling families as they attempt to flee the country.
This was not going to happen on my watch so in the early hours of Monday morning we packed up our tinyhouse and headed for the nearest unmanned boarder, fleeing like fugitives was not how we had planned our exit from Sweden but there was no way we could risk them getting their slimy hands on our precious Marley.
It was a 4hr drive to the border and Louise held Marley TIGHT the whole way. A Mothers love for her child is undeniable.

I never in my life thought I would be so happy to see this sign, to most people this sign says Finland but to us it said FREEDOM!!! We knew once we had passed this sign, we would never have to worry about losing our child again.
Maybe one day someone will explain me how non existing beings like states, countries and government can have jurisdiction over life of living being? I just don't get it...because it is total bullshit! Mind control to convince us we must obey their commands.
Yes @cmoljoe it's very sad that these governments which are owned by these giant multinational companies are able to control people with propaganda and fear, the people don't realize that these so called laws are just statutes which are only valid if we consent to them. Yes you are 100% right, it's all mind control and scare tactics to make people think we need the government to protect us when really they are the ones we need protection from.
But one day they will fall, I know this because our children are not stupid and are very wise to their tricks.

Of course one day it will fall. Everything that is a lie is falling every day more and more. Beginnings of change are always the hardest, it is hard to see all these brainwashed people, but we must stay in truth and bit by bit everything gonna change. Because it is bit by bit, you can't notice it day to day, but when you look at longer periods you can see the change. It's slow, but that is the way it is. We must leave our frustration behind and just stay in truth, that is the only way.

I'm glad you made it out safely. I've recently discovered here in the US, if you get your child a birth certificate that are owned by the US and this is why they can take them from you. I am in the process of surrendering my birth cert and claiming my daughter as my own. Particularly in these past few decades the world and civilization is undergoing major changes and various developments in all fields. Thus, young people can adapt to these changes more easily than their parents. Youngsters’ outlook on the world is quite radically different than the older generations. It is true that the young person knows himself or herself better that the parents and this is why he or she should be permitted to decide for themselves. Although, discussing one’s career and future profession with their family is a great opportunity to understand or learn something new. However, I believe that young people can make the best decisions for themselves.
Yes, this is very true, that is why I am always asking our children what they think and feel about school and governments, I know that they are slightly influenced by my beliefs but they still are very in tuned to what is going on in the world.
I find myself learning so much from my children :)

In the United States we have a ton of issues but I am glad that home schooling isn't one of them. The state I live in is considered a green state meaning it is easy to home school in my state if they have never been enrolled you don't even have to report to anyone period, the only requirement is you educate them for 180 days and the state leaves it up to the parents on what that is. Each state has their own laws some are more restrictive than others. But when I hear the horror stories like this, I feel blessed that home schooling hasn't been taken away from us yet.
Yes, from what I've heard you guys have it pretty good over there, I don't care how safe and comfortable a country like Sweden is, if they treat people like they have many homeschooling parents including us, then I would rather live somewhere else.
I do hope that the laws don't change in your country like they are in a lot of countries now.

It is frightening to read this! I am so glad that you managed to escape, but I am sorry that you did not get to say goodbye to your loved ones in person. I hope that you will now be free and happy and be left alone to live your lives as you wish
This hurts my head and heart. There are so many cases, especially in my world of the autism community, where kids are taken --medically kidnapped. What is it going to take for people to rise up against this? I'm about ready to hide out in my local Amish community. I'm glad you made it to freedom, but it's a shame, what you had to leave behind. Are you able to get help in Finland, getting establish and finding a place to live?

Wow! That really sucks! You should have the right to homeschool if you like. Are they forcing vaccines too? There is on-line classes that are available im the U.S. Do they offer them there? I think your child would get 1000 more times attention at home than they would in a classroom. This is sad.....

Children are no longer seen as people but rather as a commodity.
Sad but true @stuffy they don't even want scientists or astronauts anymore, just factory workers and delivery drivers.
Education level is falling down every year - in Malaysia, they lower the score you should get to graduate from school once in 2-3 years so more kids can actually graduate =)
That's just mad. They're not trying to increase the level of knowledge that kids gain.
Governments in all countries are not really interested in people that can actually think or create.

OMG I didn't know that was happening in Sweden. I think it is a very stricted (and crazy) legal system, but why don't you want your kids to go to school? Don't get me wrong i'm not judging, i'm just having that doubt because, maybe for a cultural difference, I think that it is healthier for kids to go to a school in order to sharing with other kids and having normal difficulties that make them to be prepared for life. I have home schooled my 3 children here in the USA.
They would get up at 6 AM and study with computer programs that are age and grade appropriate. When they finished up usually around 2 pm. They were given permission to do what ever they wanted when done studying for the day- watch tv, go to the playground, or play video games. Monday - Friday.
They take their ged at 16 1/2 - all have passed. and can go further - college and more. I have one son in the Army, and one in the National Guard. My youngest my daughter turns 18 in April and Is starting her own business in Art and Design.
If you cant tell I am very proud of them.
The point is they thrived in homeschool. Didn't suffer in any way and all are good upstanding young people.
This is such sad and scary news in this day and age. I am so glad you got out of Sweden. Good luck on your quest for freedom. There are more of us then them, thus the need to teach us that we are free while squashing any true freedoms like schooling your kids.
Living your life in a way that you need less but have more time to enjoy.....well....the state never likes that. Be well and keep us posted!!

This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart.
It's not much better in Oregon.
It is really sad when governments take tactics they use in war to take an innocent child from the only family she/he knows. Do they not know that this will leave such a horrible memory on the poor child and also on the family? Do they realize that they are causing more harm than good? I don't understand why they don't try to work with the families and help them with resources to facilitate home schooling.
I can understand your wife's pain thinking that one of her children could be taken away. It just breaks my heart what you and your family have been through. I know you must have lost much but in the greater perspective you have gained freedom and happiness for your whole family. Your gains will be so much more valuable because you will all be together.

That is a bit sad to hear. The government shouldn't be allowed to interfere in familial matters no matter wherever we are in the world. The parents are learned well enough all around the world to know whats the best for their children.What has the world come to. This is total bullshit to me and i hope your child get well educated to tackle all such morons sitting in powerful positions and bring them to their senses.

Nice to know you're safe. Just make sure Finland is safe for the little one. Whoa, I cannot even imagine what you went through. Hope you make it to Portugal or some place where you are still allowed to raise your kid as you want.
The country I live in (Romania) has no clear laws on homeschool, so we fly under the radar for the time being.
Really very interesting what raises more and more the objections that are raised to the traditional educational systems where all the students are treated equal and the virtues are not strengthened nor the weaknesses are worked out individually
It is amazing, how much power the governments... each as a whole and in part, have gained only in the last couple hundred years. Thing are advancnig quickly.
