I think we are on a cusp of an evolutionary change as a species and there will be a few stumbling blocks/hurdles. This step involves a mass awareness of individuals past the point of needing leaders to solve problems. The non aggression principle and a truly free market will herald innovation we cannot fathom. Energy, information, and personal manufacturing are very close to being free and ubiquitous.
