I have a young friend down south who enjoys his money. He and the Mrs. eat the the finest restaurants, enjoy the ocean and beaches, stay in the finest of hotels and never have to worry about answering to an employer or scraping up money for bills. They proudly and loudly say how good they have it. Yet I often wonder if they are truly happy. They have everything or so it seams.
I was told one of a man who lost his wife to a sad accident. After her death he was awarded millions of dollars as compensation. He went out on countless vacations and enjoyed the good life. Yet he too was miserable. Not amount of money could replace the joy he once had with his wife. He eventually died in his misery.
It amazes me how we value money in this world. It is as if cash is king and will buy your freedom to everything. When you have money you can enjoy the nicer things in life and with it often comes power and influence. Yet the love for money is the root of all evil. when we have material wealth and money do we have freedom? it was Janis Joplin who sang freedom is just another word for nothing left to loose. well said. Money cannot buy freedom. In fact it inhibits true freedom offering the illusion of freedom. So what else can money not buy?
Here is a list of 50 things that money cannot buy. Perhaps the list could be expanded to 100 or 500. Consider making your own list. However this is a great start to help us think of what is truly important in life. Happiness, peace of mind and good health are three things I personally can think of that money cannot buy. It seams that things of lasting value or are most important in life cannot be bought. They are priceless and when held are invaluable.
Are you enslaved by the chains of materialism? Does money control your life? Do you want to taste freedom? Consider reassessing your values. What is important to you? Perhaps you can learn to replace money and materialism with those things that are truly priceless and invaluable. Is true freedom worth that to you? Can you kick the addictive drug like desire for money and all of its friends? It will only sell you on an illusive dream that will never bring true joy in life. You will only want to feed the addiction without something lasting.
Reassess your values and consider breaking the chains that bind you and replacing it with those things that money cannot buy. Consider freedom.

Excellent read. I went from millions as a builder developer back to my small beginings after the 2008 crash. 62 now and enjoying the freedom of a frugile sustainable life.
I understand that concept completely. We learn what is important in life and what is not. Thanks so much for sharing my friend.
Money is worthless without a transaction to drive an exchange..... Its the transaction that dictates a value. Try Burning mans methods
Money is indeed worthless unless folks value it. Thanks.
