There Is No Traffic On The Extra Mile

in #freedom7 years ago

This morning I got up at 5:30am, prepared myself to go out on a bike ride as my new activity. Something that I have been wanting to do for a while to compliment my powerlifting regime in the afternoon.

I realized quickly that not a lot of people were on the road at 7am, when I was riding... and I remembered something I learned a while back during a seminar I was presenting for a Nuclear Power Plant in Texas, one of the participants was telling the story about how this specific power plant was the best performing one in these United States and it was because "there is no traffic on the extra mile" as he put it.

This message has actually made a big impact in my life since I have always pushed myself and noticed how true this is. The most successful people are not those who only do their 40 hours and go home to watch telly, the most successful people are those who go the extra mile and often times see themselves alone on that road.

Being alone on that road creates two effects, extreme joy for pushing your limits, and sometimes sadness since most people choose comfort over growth.

I hope this was inspiring. Please upvote if you found it helpful... I will continue to bring my insights from daily life into this platform as well.

Blessed be,

As much as we learn about ourselves from other people...some of the greatest lessons learned are when one is alone..don't follow the path..veer from the road and make a trail

i love it. yes you are right!

Nice article sir.. thank you so much for sharing.. keep it up..

Interesting point.

Solitude is the space where we can best understand Nature and the self.

I so agree...very deep reflections...had same experience earlier but what the only thing I have in mind are the dogs...I'm praying that there will be no dogs on the streets...I've always been scared of dogs.

you can probably bike faster than they can run. but ultimately, i carry a gun always lol.

hahaha...good suggestion...that "gun" you said is something special.

I've always said, "We do what we think about, and we become what we do."

You attract what you think about, so that is why positive people attractive positive things. Negative people attract negative things. This is a truth that is easily observable in life.

Work smartly. Hard work alone is not enough. The difference between goals and dreams is that successful people work very hard to achieve goals. There are lots of unsuccessful people with dreams, but they never work hard to see them become a reality.

Be very careful about how you spend your extra time too. Are you wasting it watching TV or playing video games or are you improving yourself?

My motto for years now has been, "Stop playing or watching the part of a hero, and be one instead." By being a hero, we improve the world. We make it a better place for everyone.
