Liberty at the Kava Lounge
Patriotism, the constitution, individual liberty, objective reality, guns, bitcoin and weed. These are just a few of the topics discussed with an amazing man by the name of Todd.
I was at the kava lounge this morning buying some kratom. Kava and kratom are both great for a number of things like pain, anxiety and so much more. I highly recommend them both. While I was there a grizzly looking man came in wearing a sun hat and a backpack. He went to the bathroom, came back, bought a drink and sat down in the corner, looking tired and sipping his soda.
At the time I was having a conversation with the proprietor (Amber) about how Americans are so far removed from the concept of individual liberty, how fireworks represent bombs and the social engineering through nationalist propoganda that's rampant in our society.
Amber then told me about a parnormal carnival that was going to be happening later that night ar the airport. They also do paintball, the fair and various other things there at the airport for some reason. I guess theres nowhere else big enough. Anyway, when the topic of the airport came up, the grizzly looking man remarked about the security at the event jokingly saying that they would probably have TSA ticket takers. This lead into a hilarious exchange in which there were snipers in the high rise, marines hiding in the hangers, and all the clowns had to go without paint so the facial recognition software could do its job, you know because security is always more important than freedom.
A Veteran's Perspective
He was saying to me that people don't know what liberty is and was referencing the constitution and the bill of rights as the best model for freedom. He is Vietnam vet. He said he had had all his guns taken away because of some dispute with the bludgies and he was now homeles. The point I think he was trying to make is that America is not free or independent and he was disgusted.
I asked him if he was referring to individual liberty as in "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He said yes but for some reason didn't like the term self ownership. I explained that the constitution, while expressing the concept of self ownership, still allowed congress to lay and collect taxes and made slavery okay as long as the slave was a "convicted felon." That the concept of self ownership implies that nobody has right or dominion over any aspect of my life until I threaten the existence another's self ownership.
He agreed with this definition of self ownership and thanked me for being a "young buck" who understood this concept. We then started talking about how the meaning of life is 42 and why a people with a rifle culture couldn't be defeated in conventional warfare. Needless to say, it was a very interesting morning.
We left off on the topic of militias when the place closed early for the holiday. I shook his hand and realized I hadn't asked his name. He told me it was Todd and would enjoy another conversation now that I knew where to find him. I said I would be delighted to.
I think it is a travesty how this country treats its soldiers. I think it is a biggers travesty that pointing out the wars of aggression that send people to die for bankers and politicians is seen as "hating the troops" or "un-American." How is it that people think I hate those who gave been sent off to die for advocating that they should live? Has history not shown us that the government doesn't give a damn about the lives of the ones chewed up and spat out by the machine that is the military industrial complex?
If ever there was a time for people to understand individual liberty, self ownership and freedom, it's now.
Freedom is a state of mind. Think free. Be free.
