Why should they pay you back when YOU are getting a referral bonus from THEM signing up? That's completely not in the spirit of this. They shouldn't need to send you back the attestation fee.

@steemmatt these people didn't download the wallet from my referral and are not on my referral list. Yet i am helping them to get their share without me getting anything out of it. the least thing they can do is send it to me back so I can help more people even if they are not my referral.

The referral comes from the person who sends them the bytes. If you're sending them the bytes, you're their referral partner, and earning more from the referral than the fraction you're sending them (which you're asking for them to send you back). I'm not sure your position is based on accurate information. You're getting a bonus from sending them the attestation fee. It's a new process, so misunderstandings can happen.

@steemmatt But i sent a lot of people some bytes yet the bot doesn't say they are my referral. Why do you have a special link to reffer then buddy? ever think about that? Your address is in the link and once they pay the fees, you get the referral. IDK i may be wrong but that's what was explained to me.

I've heard about the delay re: referrals taking a while to show up, so it might just be part of the overload now. My referrer got the bonus based on the fact they sent me my attestation fee, and it confirmed that in my wallet when it went through.

@steemmatt you got that wrong mate. Trust me.

Let's then look at the message from the post made by the leader of Byteball/Bytes and then you tell me I'm wrong and should trust something that's different. He's instructing people to download the wallet from his general link (not a link a Steemian provides). Here's then telling people to ask a Steemian to send them the attestation fee to earn them the referral. How can this possibly be debated further?

I've seen no one else on any other post by people I follow or what I've come across tell people to send them back the attestation fee. Just an observation. It's a fraction of a penny anyway, but just sends the wrong message about the spirit of this.
