Airdrop....free money? Crytpos going crazy

in #free7 years ago

Disclaimer: I don't know what I think of all the airdrops that seem to be so prevalent right now. People giving away free crypto? It can't be right...... or can it?

Well.....to be honest, if you have the technical skills (not rocket science these days) (sarcasm!!!) you can fork a fork or create a token with very little effort. Certainly you don't need a product. Another dev team will have created the code for the original coin/token. All you need is a Twitter account and some spare time.

Give your coin away until it creates a kind of market (albeit small/fake non existent) and you can (or the community) get it listed on some exchanges. And bosh. Free money. These guys are giving away coins/tokens right now in their millions. Squillions. And it's making me squeamish. I don't like it. But I joined one to see all about it. And i was airdrop a few thousand coins. Which promptly made the exchange, and I sold for over 60 dollars. Ridiculous.

So I'm thinking, I don't like it, but is it far fetched to imagine that if you are in a poor country where 60 dollars is a lot of money and globalised decentralised exchanges mean you actually can access this "crypto world", take part in "Airdrops" and make free money? And if you are new to bitcoin, it's an easy way to get some kind of coins or tokens and start to experiment? Right? I still can't help thinking it's going to ruin crypto or some peoples experience of the space.....

But I put my 60 dollars into bitcoin and went back onto twitter..... #airdrop
