UEFA Champions League: Round Up

in #football8 years ago

Let's make a quick round up of the first week of the Round of 16 of the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

  • SL Benfica vs Borussia Dortmund

Benfica's belief and hardwork paid off and they took the lead when Mitroglou tapped in Luisão's headed assist three minutes after the start of the last half.

So the second leg will be tough for the German-side as the high spirited Portuguese side will leave nothing to stop the team with the highest fan base in the world having home advantage.

  • PSG vs Barcelona

An absolute shocker of a scoreline but if there's one team with the ability to counter this first leg score line it's the Catalonian side at Camp Nou.

The celebration from the Manager Unai Emery shows how proud he is about the magical display of football his side has shown against one of the best side in the world.

The look on Messi's face shows how bad a day was it for them and how disappointing was it for their fans.

Looking for the Second leg as UEFA Quarters without Barça doesn't happen often.

  • Real Madrid vs Napoli

The score doesn't show how good a start was it for Napoli.
Insigne nets a 30-metre finish before Benzema heads an equalizer. And then both the teams attacked and defended well but it was the might and brilliance of Real Madrid who exploited the leaks in the well-defending Italian side.

Kroos finished with precision after Ronaldo's well created pass.

And the day was sealed off by a brilliant volley from Casemiro from 25 yards out.

  • Bayern Munich vs Arsenal

Bayern thrashed Arsenal with the dominant display of attacking football at Allianz Arena. The German side surely would be proud of their performance at Munich.

Before the second half started it all seemed leveled up as Robben gave Bayern early lead with curled finish from outside the box and Alexis Sánchez levels after seeing penalty saved by Neuer.
But it was the Second Half where

Lewandowski gave Bayern lead again, before Thiago Alcántara fired home a quickfire double.
And then it was all very easy when the substitute Muller netted one in.
