Juventus, UCL & Netflix - A Conspiracy?

So before I get into some tinfoil hat territory Congratulations to Juventus for getting to the next stage of the UEFA Champions League.
I am a Spurs fan and was bitterly disappointed by the result. Tactically in my opinion it was classic Italian football. The manager found the consistent holes in spurs defence and picked his moment followed by sitting in and burning up the clock using their vast years of experience and all credit to them!

(Disclaimer: There is no real evidence to the following statements and it is just me have a laugh and trying to make myself feel better, however like a lot of conspiracy theories things do seem to fit)

So,

If you didn't know there is currently a Netflix documentary following Juve THIS SEASON! Its in Italian obviously but there are sub titles and i can read (even if my own writing is piss poor)
Right from the off it is all about the UCL being the prize. Now anyone who loves to binge watch or read good stories will know what the objectives are for any narrative. In this it is winning the UCL before arguably the greatest goal keeper to ever play the game Buffon retires from the sport.
Its current season ends just before the first leg of 2 against my team Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs). I watched all available episodes after the first leg had been played and at the time 2 things crossed my mind:

  1. We were going to knock out Juve and become Villians for all of time. This had me a little apprehensive about the games, but I tried not to think about it too much.

  2. Juve were going to turn it around in some fairy tale fashion and we were fucked.

For those of you who follow football will know it was option 2. But this got me thinking that had we knocked them out of the UCL what would that of meant for the Netflix documentary? Another standard run to the Serie A title?
That doesn't sound very inspiring when they effectively do it every season relatively unchallenged.

So this go me thinking a bit more. Unfortunately Italy has been known for its awful match fixing issues in previous years and there has also been some incredible findings with FIFA corruption. Add the Netflix warhorse funding to something like this and... See where im going?
I do not want to go there and football is a funny old game, however it does seem like there is a story to be told and how many times in the past have we all thought we were watching something genuine that later turned out to be staged or fixed?

Just some food for thought there. And i am not saying any of that is legit but EXTREMELY coincidental.

I'd like to finish by saying congratulations again to Juventus and i'd like to see you go all the way in the UCL and win the damn thing for all of the legends in your team and so i can enjoy some solid netflix viewing. But i will be following results closely incase my mad theory is right lol.

Have a great day & STEEM ON!
