EPL Battle For Survival Match day 29

in #football7 years ago

It was a battle of survival for teams in the bottom half of the English Premier League today as it looks like it would be a fight to last for all teams. With nine EPL match days to go, just four points separates the twelfth placed Brighton and Hove Albion who welcome ailing Arsenal tomorrow from the bottom three.

Watford added to West Bromwich Albion’s misery, courtesy of a lone goal by captain, Troy Deeney to condemn the baggies to their fifth straight defeat. This leaves the baggies still on 20 points and almost certain for relegation.

Swansea would be on the seventh heaven after making a meal of David Moyes’ West Ham United with a 4-1 victory in Wales. This takes the Welsh side to 30 points and they’d be looking to build on that confidence and hope it’d see them through surviving in the EPL this season.

Bournemouth remained in the bottom half after a 97th Minute Riyad Mahrez free kick levelled for the Foxes, cancelling Joshua King's goal and taking them within distance of Burnley who also secured a 2-1 win over Everton to keep the pressure on Arsenal. Bournemouth are also 6 points above the relegation waters.

Stoke City have their hero, Jack Butland to thank for helping them secure a point at Southampton. The English man put in a man of the match performance, deservedly as his vital five saves were enough to earn the Potters a point who were flat all through the game. Their bad run continues with just 1 win in 16 league games, leaving them in 18th position, just one point behind Southampton.

Tottenham continued their 17-game unbeaten run, further cementing their place in the top four with a comfortable 2-0 win courtesy of a brace from Son Heung Min at the expense of Huddersfield who sit three points above the relegation zone on 30 points. Huddersfield host fellow struggles, Swansea City next Sunday.

Thanks for the wonderful update. Apart from the relegation battle , the race for the top 4 is going to be quite interesting as well, I think 4 Liverpool, Machester Utd, Tottenham and Chelsea are going to fight till the end for the remaining 3 champions league spots.

Sure, it's gonna be a battle to the wire for the remaining 3 places after City. The relegation zone just pricks my interest looking at how possible it is for the team in 11th position to still get relegated. That's something beautiful about the EPL

I pray Chelsea wins Manchester City tomorrow

Manchester City will win
