Defending champions the United States stunned the world this morning Beijing time. They set a record for the biggest margin of error in women's World Cup history by beating Thailand 13-0. U.S. star Morgan scored five goals and Lloyd was the world's oldest goalscorer at 36 years 330 days.

The United States is currently number one in the world and has won the World Cup three times before beating Japan in the last World Cup final. In its previous seven world cups, the U.S. finished third in the worst record. The Thai women, who are ranked 29th in the world, are playing in their second World Cup this year and have gone 1-2 in the group stage of the 2015 World Cup.
The americans took the lead after just 13 minutes. O 'hara crossed and Morgan headed the ball into the net with nobody at the back. Ravel's long-range goal in the 20th minute and Holland's powerful shot in the 32nd minute gave the americans a 3-0 halftime lead. Taking advantage of Thailand's physical decline in the second half, the americans started scoring. Mavis, Morgan and ravel all scored twice in the 50th to 56th minutes to make it 7-0. As the outcome became clear, the U.S. coach replaced ravel with veteran Lloyd, who scored a hat-trick in the last World Cup final. Morgan scored his second hat-trick of the tournament in the 74th minute when he beat the Thai defender in the box. Born in 1998, pew scored and Morgan went on to score twice. In injury time, after Thailand's goal was broken by the United States, the ball was passed to the front field. Lloyd, after receiving Morgan's direct shot, added a strong shot and the score was set at 13-0. Lloyd also became the oldest scorer in the World Cup at the age of 36 years and 330 days.
Morgan became only the second player in women's World Cup history to score five goals in a single game, joining us international michelle akers. Morgan's 5-goal, 3-assist performance also broke the previous women's World Cup record of 3-goal, 2-assist and 5-goal per game. The U.S. women dominated 75 percent of the ball and took 39 shots (Thailand took just two) to score 13 goals. The previous record for the women's World Cup deficit was an 11-0 win over Argentina in the opening game of the 2007 World Cup in hongkou.
In the other two matches, Holland and Sweden both scored late goals. The Netherlands beat New Zealand 1-0 in group E and gilrod headed home in injury time.
Sweden beat Chile 2-0 in group F. Sweden, in spite of its superior strength, was slow to break Chile's goal for the first time in the World Cup. In the 72nd minute, the referee interrupted the game and allowed the players to take shelter in the players' tunnel because of the heavy rain. In the 83rd minute after the resumption of the game, Sweden finally broke the deadlock with a powerful shot from inside the aslani box. Sweden beat Chile 2-0 in injury time after Madeleine's shot from inside the box escaped the defender.
