Saudi Arabia Refuse to Take Part in Minute Silence for London Bridge Attack

The Saudi team who were playing Australia last night would not stand for the minutes silence for the victims of the London Bridge terror attack. Their subs also remained seated during the minutes silence. The move caused outrage among fans across the world and was seen as a total lack of respect.

According to team Saudi, it is not part of their culture. Which some have said is ironic given the brand of Islam adopted by the attackers is broadly agreed to have been exported from Saudi Arabia.

This was particularly personal for the Australians as some of their own citizens were caught up in the attack.
