The other day when the Champions League draw was taking place there was an obvious elephant in the room. I am sure most people didn't realise what could have unfolded, but luckily it didn't. The UEFA officials must have been having sleepless nights and been in a cold sweat when the draw was taking place.
Two teams who are bitter rivals were in the draw and they haven't faced each other since 1990. If you read my last post it is the same two teams. Dynamo Zagreb and Crvena Zvezda which translated from Serbian is Red Star Belgrade. Thankfully they dodged being drawn in the same pool and everyone can sleep easy for another year. The chances of them qualifying further and facing each other is slim to no chance.

Red Star parked a tank outside their stadium and drove around in a troop carrier.
When they qualified recently to play in the Champions League they kind of celebrated a little differently, but had a dig at each other.Red Star used a show of force by displaying a tank. When quizzed a government official said they didn't belong to the military, but a private collector.

True to form when Dynamo saw what Red Star had posted they posted a picture of a rusty tractor outside of their stadium. This symbolizes the fleeing Serbian Croats who fled when the military intervened during the civil war. Many Serbians fled using tractor trailers and it is showing them they haven't forgotten. Obviously no love has been lost between these two teams.

The day will come at some point in the future where they will have to play each other. Maybe a "friendly" needs to be organised between them to break the ice.
They're a dangerous fans so yes uefa will have to follow their matches so well to avoid wars on streets but talking about soccer i think will be an amazing show watching their matches, Regards
Exciting to see not so familiar rivals in the Champions League. I'm a bit tired to see most of the common rivalries and honestly, they're pretty much of a business.
they would probably do a ban for away fans. something similar was done in basketball (in basketball we have a regional league). Problem would maybe be that we have an elections next year so some nationalistic manipulation would be possible. We played with Croatia few times in qualifiers, it was always tensions but as i remember never a serious shit.
And stupid people can be found anywhere, so if you are that unlucky to stumble upon them, well shit out of luck.
Although I don't really watch that much soccer and it isn't a sport that I find myself following, I have always admired the passion of the fans. I know a lot of people that don't like it feel it is too boring. I figure any sport that has regular fan riots can't be that bad.
Didn't a football match actually spark the start a war in the old Yougoslavia at the time?
Read my last post lol. What I found funny was Tottenham have Red Star in their group. Was thinking of sending you a ticket .
