Decentralized Football Managers

in #football9 days ago (edited)

I found two football managers (MFL and Footium) that are based on NFTs. Just signed up to see what it's all about. Actually cool, even if not open source and not really decentralized. Imagine a real decentralized football manager. How cool it would be. I don't play Sorare, I tried the free version, otherwise it can be expensive fun.

It's got all the typical neurological sales tricks that you typically associate with NFT's and gambling; which indicates it's well funded and as such got the psychologists in to create the site.

However, they've made the same mistakes other big money corporate sites make, which is typical of corporate thinking, where they do things from a book, rather than getting someone in with creative intelligence, and as such it comes across as snake oil, scammy. While the UI is pretty, it's also confusing and chaotic.

They've tried to use three.js to make it fancy, which when done right, really works, but it just looks like it's there for the sake of it (see video), and seems too random and out of place.

Would be nice to get a more user-friendly and less confusing version done, but these types of user and database driven sites are hard to manage. They require a lot of investment.
