History never stop to repeat itself not once, not twice and not thrice, in fact it us becoming a normal as the Nigeria Professional Premier League suffered another postponement for the third times within two months, originally this is a league that supposed to gave started in may thus year but couldn't hold due to what the organising committee claimed to be logistical problem. The unfortunate delay in the league has caused club's in Nigeria participating in both Confederation of African Football Champions league as well as Confederation cup. It is has being almost seven months now that the abridged league format adopted for 2018/2019 season ended and still yet there is no clear insight on when and how the 2019/2020 league season will be played.
Sometimes last month, the honourable minister of sports in Nigeria directed that the Nigeria Professional Football League should start in Ernest, little did the minister know that the stakeholders running the game in the land are more if what will come into their pockets than the development of the game proper. Hardly has a season gone by in Nigeria football season without chaos, rancour and litigation. It is clear that those who really and genuinely passionate about the development of the game in this country are not been given the opportunity to contribute.
Politics is another thing that is really killing the game in the land, just a week or two back, the home based super eagles popularly called chan eagles failed to make to the chan 2020 as they were eliminated in the final round of qualification by Togo on 4-3 on aggregate. Why many Nigerians have completely put the blame on the shoulders of the players, I for one completely refused to blamed the players entirely for the loss, I will rather subject the administrators for the loss, how would you win a game with players that have not plated competitive league games since May and you want results.
