Food for Thought

As I continue to develop my skills when it comes to photo imaging I am constantly questioning does this look good enough to eat? What colours convey the message I trying to get across?

I'd love to get some feedback on these images and hear what the community has to say.

The contrast of color with the red pot is eye catching.

Simply great work. It is difficult to me to explain but I think the second (blue) looks more beatiful but the first one (white) - somehow gives me more apetitte. Maybe this is because the second looks like a more "artificially constructed" and the first rather more natural. Perhaps this is also something to consider. Please dont let my words sound arrogant. Both are brillant pictures.

This vegetables are going to be delicious food. thanks for sharing.keep it up.you are a good photographer.go ahead.thank you

you have a talent for photography. I think the colors are just right. Flat lay photos are also the best. What camera did you use? Are there edits?

I love it this picture, I love it cook, specially with vegetables

Hi! Both looks great but the first one, which has warmer tones, is my favourite.

Both images are well composed and the color contrasts are spot on but I feel like a warmer white balance on the first image works better with food photography.

Nice post... Perfect

I think you should go with the first pic. It is sssooo much warmer and makes everything look more delicious. In the second one the soup doesn't look as appetizing as the first.

Wow its looks yummy tasty and very colory i hv no words to describe how iget amazed

Grow microgreens it's easy

I think a white bowl/plate should always be used on your focal point (main dish in this case) it prevents any distraction from what is the main thing in the picture. All things surrounding it can be of varied colors to enhance the overall look. Top photo gets my vote!! Great pics btw @scottdphoto!!

estas fotografías transmiten una sensación de frescura y comida saludable, excelentes.

I think you've done a wonderful job with this. The colors and contrast are eye catching and the food looks delicious. I prefer the blue soup plate in combination with the red. Real eye catchers both.

These look great dude! @gringalicious posts some awesome food photography, as a food blogger I think she brings the same knowledge of her subject that you do to your underwater shots, for me that's a huge part of food photography!

Maybe a different angle ?
To much going on (colors)
Wasn't sure what to focus on

I don't have good lighting or good camera like you :)
Keep up the great work

Both great pictures but in answer to your question about colour the first image is the strongest as it is more harmonious and warmer. Blue is a colour that is not associated with food (there is no blue food) and I always think it makes food look, even if slightly, less appetising. Also the composition of the first photograph is better as the green objects form better diagonal lines from each other. Great post would like to use the pics for my students.

There is always a need to try new things as well as new ways of applying what has been learned in other areas ... excellent work

The blue color of the plate remains perfect, is the best contrast for the soup! One sees delicious.

very beautiful colors, it seems very nice.

The invention of new dish does anymore for human happiness, what opening of new star. Pleased me to you post-modernism, successes to you and successes

I really liked the color combination in the second photo.
The blue, red and green give great contrast to each other. And in total, it looks delicioues :)

Beautiful work! I prefer the first image over the second, because of the warm tones (most noticeable in the white table background), and also because the white bowl allows the personality of the food itself to be the main interest. Again, beautiful work. Keep it up :)
