Travelogue: Sushi Heaven at Hanamaru Sushi, Sapporo, Japan

I was never really a fan of Sushi but after having Sushi in Japan, i'm a convert!

At Hanamaru Sushi in Sapporo, the sushi's are made by chefs and not by sushi machines and the food is delivered to you through a conveyer belt.

It's a very popular restaurant that is frequented by both the locals and tourists so even though we got there at 12 pm, my husband and I had to wait for over an hour before we manage to get a seat inside the restaurant. It was so worth it though!

Raw Hokkaido scallops - the Japanese call this "Hotate". Look at how juicy and huge these scallops are.

Tuna Fish - it melts in your mouth like as though you were eating a marshmellow.

By this time, we weren't even sure what we were eating anymore - but it was so good so we just kept ordering.

Miso Snow Crab Soup - this is a specialty in Hokkaido especially in the winter season!

The experience was great and the best part of it all was that it was so reasonably priced!
For all that we had, we only paid around USD 30 for the both of us.

Here are some tips for you if you do happen to visit Japan and want to try out this restaurant:

1. Be adventurous! Try everything on the menu if you can - don't be frightened even if some of the food looks like Davy Jones's moustache from Pirates of the Caribbean.

2. Try to go at non- peak hours (avoid lunch and dinner) you may not have to wait as long as we did!
